Hilarious meta: Merlin as a tabletop RPG.
Most of the Merlin fics for Yuletide were really rather good, but my favourites are (in no particular order):
Most of the Merlin fics for Yuletide were really rather good, but my favourites are (in no particular order):
- Reasons Why -- good Morgana voice, though I would have liked for it to have the time to take a deep breath and slow down, and let itself unfurl.
- Four Kisses -- a nicely worked foursome, and character dynamics within.
- That Shall Achieve The Sword -- love the last two lines.
- Camlann -- a snapshot of the future.
- The Last Word -- romantic, with the first three-quarters carrying quite an emotional punch, though the last parts may be a little too sugary for some.
- Merlin, Arthur, and Sir Damas -- this could have been a canon episode, were the writers more keen on outright comedy. :D
- The Royal Prat and the Cave of Destiny -- Arthur seems a little out of character in that I think there'd be a lot more shouting involved when he finds out about Merlin's magic, but they are trapped in a cave, and the lines are hilarious.
