Gosh, getting near to the end now. For today's story, another third part POV story, this time once again in Cowley's perspective:

This is an enjoyable yet unusual story. It's Christmas Eve and Doyle has been badly injured in an op, Cowley and Bodie are at the hospital waiting for news. The doctor arrives and gives Cowley some news he likely would have preferred not to have known. And then there are various decisions that must be made. The story is followed by a sequel (Crossing the Jordan) that is equally as good, taking place one week later.
