Job done. But it cost.
Muddy footprints lead me to him -
Unkempt curls tossed wildly by the wind,
Denim clad hips propped casually against the bonnet of the Capri,
A size nine boot tapping impatiently against a tyre,
Bruised hands pushed deep into tight pockets, how does he fit anything in there?
Dirt smeared across cheekbones and the bridge of a straight nose underlines scowling features.
Then he sees me -
Broad shoulders relax,
A hint of a smile twitches a swollen lip,
Tired eyes spark.
Never seen anything I wanted more.
It has to be love, doesn’t it?
