I've got a guy showing me how to use a gun now, but I'm sure learning some other not-immediately-lethal self-defense couldn't hurt in this place.

Might as well take you up on the looks-like-you-belong-in-the-next Karate Kid thing, at least...

Did it? Good, good! I'm glad to hear that. Good company is what makes this - or any other world - bearable. I'll be happy to have you as my student. It's been a long time since I taught groups . . .

What's a "gun?"

A gun. Hm. It's...like, a hand-held weapon? Like a small portable canon, or crossbow. It shoots out bullets, which are little pieces of metal.

A hand-held cannon? I suppose it was only a matter of time. Well, that sounds useful. All the same, I think I'll start everyone out on polearms.

I've seen a few people with them, actually, more than I'm used to seeing at home...but then people don't just tote weapons around without a permit, we're relatively peaceful and safe back home.

I can swing a mean broomstick! You could probably teach me something a little more effective, though.
