I did it, I began to

work on my filet crochet piece for the months CAL, topic: In the polar area.
I designed a pattern for this, wasn't that easy as I had no idea how to draw a reindeer, but when I checked Ravelry's pattern search I discovered many knitted items with reindeers on. That helped a lot to get the right proportions of the deers.

I dipped the end of the crochet cotton thread in nail polish, to stiffen it up for better picking up the beads with it. Never ever again (at least not right now), will I work with beads on thread that is to be used for crocheting. I'm using huge amounts of yarn and constantly have to push back the beads or risk that they end up in the wrong places in my filet piece.

It took some time to get used working with a size 10 steel hook but now it poses no problem to me.

Haven't spun yesterday nor today, just haven't had the time.
Decided to use the two skeins of Kauni Effektgarn for a second Miss Marple, this time in laceweight.

Today was pretty boring. Phell reminded me of the Nazi-meetings in her hometown. Idiots, all of them. And looking at the small version of my filet pattern I see that I didn't mark all filled squares at the trunk of the pine tree.

happy, crochet
