My hard drive has been feeling overworked and was kind enough to notify me of such via the blue screen of death. So I decided it needed a few days off and in my search to fill the void of electronic entertainment, I bought Rock Band for the PS2. Yeah the PS2, not the Wii, I know, I know. But it was $70 cheaper and the WII is in the middle of the living room which would mean the drum set would have to fight with Jake's toys for prime real estate. The PS2 on the other hand is upstairs in the loft and easily toddler proofed. Actually, Jake has taught us that nothing is really toddler proof. I doubt even Gitmo could hold that child down for long.
Anyhoo, Ryan and I were up until the wee hours last night taking our band, AssHat, on the road. Man do I sing an awesome lead vocal. By awesome, I mean horrific. But soooo much fun. Well at least for me it is. Not so much for innocent bystanders. I have a voice that would embarrass even American Idol rejects. No one without earplugs would ever give me five stars for singing anything. I mean I'm barely alowed to hum Happy Birthday at family parties. So I am absolutley LOVING singing my lungs out on Rock Band. Well I was until I got to the Coheed and Cambria song, "Welcome Home". Zomg that songs SUCKS. Well, I mean the lyrics do at least.
You could have been all I wanted
But you weren't honest
Now get in the ground
I failed out of the song because I couldn't stop laughing. I finally got through it when I imagined I was channeling the dudes from Dethklok on Metalocalypse. Don't get me wrong, the song seriously rocks, but damn the lyrics are emo-riffic.
I'm going to have to mellow out a bit though as I'm starting to lose my voice. I'm sure my adoring fans are heart broken. :p
