HereSpike had fallen back into the land of the blissfully unconscious again. Buffy and I ate our meal in a tense sort of silence, while we listen to Spike gasp in pain sometimes. I'm a Watcher, I shouldn't give a rats arse werther he un-lives or turns into ashes. Werther he is in pain or not. I really shouldn't. But I guess working

Taking some of the things that are in the cabin, safe Buffy's bag of course, I put it behind him to prevent the stupid git from rolling out of the doorway. Some branches, the other blanket, a very odd long wooden thing I can't place. Doesn't matter, it's now a perfectly good Spike stop.
After giving him one last worried glance, I climb backward out of the tree. I takes me some time, alright, a lot of tim. But I finally manage to get to the bottom of the stupid tree without any help from Buffy. Jumping the last bit down, I straighten up and smile over at her feeling oddly proud.
Wiping my hands off on my trousers I glance back up at the tree and my look turns almost triumphant. "Right, well," I start, looking back at Buffy, "let see if we can hunt down more of those bunnydog things."

...let see if we can hunt down more of those bunnydog things...
"Uh huh," is all I say and wait until he walks past me for me to follow him. Well, come to think of it, Spike really isn't like, all that bad looking, but he isn't the hottest thing ever. Like Riley. I've always thought that Wes was gay, maybe he actually is, but geez, lay off the vamps, it'll be nothing but trouble. Maybe I should tell him that.
Oh my God, what is wrong with me? Wes isn't gay. He doesn't like Spike.
Or does he?
Huh. A grin comes to my lips as I follow him, then catch up with him, "So, where are these ... bunny dog things?"

Glaring at her, I huff and grab my knife. I'm going to need to make a bow or something. Maybe I can use one of the innards of those bunny dogs like they did before the invention of nylon and rope. Or maybe one of the plants might work. Glancing around I look for a good branch that is flexible yet strong enough to serve as a bow. I wont be able to hunt with my bare hands or the small knife all the time. Unlike some super hero's around here.
"Let's just walk around until we find one. I'm certain your super sonic hearing can pick them up easily." Walking around I finally spot a branch that might suffice. Getting out my Swiss pocket knife I cut it off and glance it over. "This might work," I mutter mostly to myself, bending it a little.

I worry about Spike as well. But only because he's powerful and strong. Buffy alone won't make it as the fight with this sea serpent showed us. And Spike alone won't make it either, as the fact that he's now sick showed us. And I certainly won't make it on my own. We're going to have to relay on each other if we're ever going to make it out of this place.
Getting some plants that seem flexible and elastic enough, I start to make my bow. All I need to do now is make me some arrows and practice with this thing. "What?" I look up confused as she starts to talk at me again a little more urgent. I had tuned her out until just now.
"Yes, that's what you ate," I mutter. Oh wonderful, I'm going to have to force feed the vampire *and* the Slayer if this keeps up. "Would you rather Spike bit you and drank your blood?" raising an eyebrow I glance back at her.

"He doesn't have to bite you," I start. I look at the, once again very cute looking bunny dogs. I'm going to have to name these things. I refuse to call them bunny dogs. In fact I wish I has some pen and paper, a lot of paper so I could keep a dairy and names things.
"We can alway cut open a vein," I shrug, holding up my knife. "Then he can drink from you without hurting you." I'd forgotten about that damn chip. He can't bite her or me. Or these animals unless they're dead. He can't hurt her or me. Which is probably why I feel save enough around him.
"So, Miss Summers? Spike needs blood to heal. Are we going to give him yours because Slayer blood would heal him. Or are we going to hunt down a few of these," I wave at the furry creatures. "These konijnhonden." There I've given it a name. It' a start.

I finish making my bow as I let the silence stretch between us for a moment longer as I think this over. Spike would heal a lot faster with Slayer blood. And the faster he's on his feet again, the fast we can get moving toward our goal to get home again.
Lowing the now finished bow I give her a serious look. "Alright, if you're certain. Though I doubt we'll need to stake him. If you cut open a vain we can both keep an eye on him." And hopefully he wouldn't pull any stunts. Maybe he'll be too weak for a few days after all.
"You don't have to do this. We can always..." My voice trails off at the look she's giving me. Sighing, I run a hand through my hair. Bloody hell, we seem to attracting nothing but trouble here. "Fine. Let's go back then. We might as well get this over with." The sooner the better.

Rather triumphantly, I jump into the small cabin and wait for Buffy. Remembering her sarcastic remark when I had managed to get down the sodding tree, I quickly wipe my smile of my face. Walking over to Spike I grouch down next to him, pulling the blanket away a bit.
"The art of waking Spike of Buffy style would consist out of a hard poke, probably a shove and quite possibly a kick," Raising an eyebrow I glance back at her. "Somehow...I don't think so. I'll try and wake him up." Putting my hand on Spike's shoulder I shake him a bit. "Spike. We're back. We may have found a cure for you."

I blinked my eyes and jerked upright, disoriented for a few moments.
"Wha? Oh, a cure? More bunny-dog blood? I'll try and keep it down I guess." I tried to sit up better, and looked down at Wesley's hand that was still on my shoulder. "Nice of you to care." I told him, a small smirk lighting my features.

"And no, it's not-not exactly any of those...err...creatures." Helping him sit up, I glance over at Buffy again. I wonder what he'll think about it. If he weren't so weak he might've jumped for joy. "It's..." I wave over at Buffy, "Err...Slayer blood. And no! That does not mean you'll get to bite her. We'll cut her...or-or something." I nod vehemently at that. Oh god, that came out very wrong.

Buffy sat over by the fire, didn't like to be around sick people, or hospitals. I'd heard that once, swapping slayer stories at this demon bar in Sunnydale. Not likely she can catch what I have though, not unless she's taking to drinking the ruby red.
"Uh...you're welcome?"
I felt Wesley's hand patting my shoulder. He was smiling at me? Strange watcher. How'd he manage to live this long being so trusting? I'd have made short shrift of him in my chipless days. Or taken him back to Dru for her to play with like one of her dolls.
Yet here was a watcher trying to help me, a vampire, get well again. And not some namby pamby souled 'the guilt, it burns, I must save puppies' vampire either. I was unapologetically evil as far as these two were concerned. Wesley helped haul me up to a sitting position. Hated how weak my body felt, Percy could have been about to plunge a piece of wood in my heart and I doubt I could have swatted his had away to stop him.
"It's...Err...Slayer blood. And no! That does not mean you'll get to bite her. We'll cut her...or-or something."
"Bollocks."
I looked back and forth between them, disbelief in my expression. I was still delirious, that was it. This was some funny dream, where I got to do what I'd always wanted. Next we'd all be naked and...
"Alright, pinch me, I must still be out cold. No sodding way in hell that the slayer would let me drink her blood. It's a trick, so she'll have an excuse to stake me."
I threw Buffy a glance, she wasn't shaking her head, or grinning at some 'tease the vampire' joke.
Wesley was looking at me with that stern yet worried expression. I'm a vampire, you git! You shouldn't be acting this way.
"You're serious?" I asked them both, trying not to let myself get too excited about the prospect. To taste her. I'd never thought I'd get a chance, at least not willingly.
