While we were on our walk yesterday we noticed that a lot of large black beetles had been wandering across the path and had got squashed. I saw one that was still alive so I stooped down to get it. Andy's not keen on bugs ("You're not going to pick it up are you? Oh"), so she was a bit disconcerted.
This morning I was trying to identify it in my big book of bugs:
Me: "I think it was a dung beetle."
Andy: "You picked up a dung beetle?"
Me: "Well, I've picked up dung before now."
Andy: "You're not helping your case."
