just wondering

A Mary Sue is a wish fulfillment character. She is a stand-in for the author, a way for an author to act out her own desires, the way she wants her life to be. Bella Swan is a good example; she's a klutzy, cute, supposedly intelligent little bookworm with a dreamy boyfriend. Mary Sues tend to be flat, not really flawed, just puppets for the author to have things her way.

So here's what I wonder: If what an author wants is to be a cold, arrogant, slightly evil bitch, and she creates a character like that to act out her desire - is it possible for that character to be a Mary Sue, too?
