So I had an idea. I’m going to put a picture on my desktop of where I was a year ago, trying to match it up day by day.
A year ago today I was in Berlin and visited the Brandenburg Gate. It brings back good memories of a happy day, which I need right now.
When I put up one of my Brandenburg Gate pictures it was blown up 200%. I noticed a man with silver hair prominently in the foreground. He is looking over a map, I assume of Berlin, or maybe the U and S-Bahn map. He stands with his short red-haired wife. They are both in black from head to toe…it was chilly that day.
Then I got to thinking…this man probably doesn’t even know that I have a picture of him, let alone on my desktop. He will be, to me, eternally lost in Berlin. Trying to guide himself and his wife to their next destination.
I now wonder if anyone has pictures of me while I was gone. I may be in tens, hundreds, or even thousands of pictures scattered around the world. I was gone for two months after all and went to a lot of places. In these photos maybe I’m lost, maybe smoking a cigarette, maybe eating lunch, maybe with my iPod on, maybe not. Hopefully there aren’t any pictures of me trying to eat yogurt with a phone card in Bern.
