(no subject)
So I saw something said along the lines of, if k8 were to break up they wouldn't care since they would be free of Johnny's.'
And in my head I'm like, no, please don't say that! Don't jinx them!!!
Ever since SMAP disbanded and I read all those comments of people predicting how would disband next, it's left me with an uncomfortable feeling, especially as more information comes out. I really, really, REALLY don't want to see them (or any other group really) disband.
However, I do understand the whole 'they'll be free of Johnny's' thing. I've been thinking it recently, wishing they hadn't been apart of Johnny's but an independant band. If they could leave Johnnys but still be a band together, but under a different name, I'd be fine with that. But, in reality, would that even happen? That would open them up to do whatever else they really wanted to do. Given that freedom, would they even want to continue in a group together? I'm pretty sure some members, like Subaru, would definitely continue with music in some way.
It's not something I like thinking about.
It wasn't until I got into K8 that I really fell in love with one group and became a really bug fan enough to actively follow them and spend hundreds of dollars on them throughout my span as a fan. So, they're a really, really big presence in that part of my life. To have them just be no more, I don't know what I'd do? Granted, there's other music I like, like Imagine Dragons. J-pop wise though...while I listen to quite a few JE and non-JE groups, I'm not a big fan of any of them. I haven't listened to a new Arashi song since 2010. Or any of them, aside from JWest, and even then it's hardly any. I guedd I'd just go back to how I was back in 2009. Just liking random songs from the radio.
Of course, I'm not so naïve to think they'll be a group for ever. SMAP is enough evidence of that, but even before that whole mess started in January or whenever, I was well aware. As much as I hate to think about it, it will eventually happen. But I'd like it not to happen for quite a while. I'd like to be able to see them first.
