Get the new Radiohead album.

They are currently distributing it on their own site for whatever you feel it is worth. It will be interesting to see if this idea catches on. I am a huge supporter of this idea for many reasons, which I don't have the time to go into fully. But other than being a huge and well deserved middle finger to parent labels, distributing music solely via a band's own site can be a much more effective means of distribution and to many bands, provide a larger and more direct profit. Radiohead obviously doesn't seem too concerned with the latter, but this is a very interesting precedent nonetheless. And with most listeners stealing music anyway, it is an obvious, yet novel, idea to bypass the record label, whose only use in the 21st century is to serve as a very expensive and useless middleman between the artist and the consumer.
