Yesssssss!!! So much love. And if I reach far enough I can make up lots of similarities between them and Bane/Talia. Hehe.

:D :D :D

I love meeting new people! also, I'm seriously so fascinated by your makeup work. it's the kind of thing I always tried to get people to let me do in college, but sadly the theater department never called for much special effects work.

Aww. I actually majored in Theatrical design, but my school had a single "advanced theatrical makeup class" in the program that taught the VERY basics of prosthetics. I kind of took that and ran with it. :)

that's awesome! I took a very short masterclass once outside of school on applying zombie makeup, but I never really had the chance to use it. basically everything I know, I've had to teach myself (or learn by accident).

it's kind of sad--now that I'm out of school, I have no real reason to keep it up (except that I like it).

Liking something is the only reason you need to keep something up! There was no reason for me to draw that silly Bane drawing- it's not for work, I can't sell it, no reason to waste my time doing that when I should have been doing something I can actually sell. But... it was damn fun! And that's all the reason I need. If you enjoy playing with makeup, then play with it. Experiment. Take funny pictures. That's how I started. :)

it's true!

it's been so long since I've done ANYTHING with makeup, but setting out to just have fun can never hurt.

Don't! The grass is always greener on the other side, trust me. I love love love my job, but the work is never steady, we work with a lot of chemicals, and it's a shrinking industry. Hehehe. Still, I do love it, and have gotten to be a part of some pretty swell adventures.

I have some stuff up on my webby site, but it needs to be updated. I'm lazy-

And yay! Hahaha. I'm obsessed with Bane fanarting this week. There will be more drawings. I promise. Hahahahaha.

Yeah, I can imagine it wouldn't be steady, but I still want to do it. haha Did you go to school for it or just get a job and work your way along? I've never really met anyone on the industry, so I hope you don't mind me asking.

Your stuff looks great!! Currently in your FX gallery.

Did you by any chance watch that Face Off series (there have been two seasons so far) and if so, what did you think of it quality wise?

Friending your ass, that Bane picture is hilarious. I've been itching to paint him, may start one today as I have a few canvases left. :D

I went to a State College majoring in Theatrical Design. They had a very basic prosthetic makeup class in the program (which they let me take twice and I later was the teacher's assistant for my final two years there). It was a nice, all be it, extremely basic foundation. Most of what I learned during that time was from experimenting on my own. In the end it all really comes down to networking and meeting people, which is a whole job in itself, hahaha. Over the past 7 years I can only think of one or two times I was actually asked to show a portfolio to get a job. You work a gig, you met people on set or in the lab, hope that they like you and call you when another gig comes up.

I've gotten to work on some pretty amazing projects (although a friend of mine got to work on the Pittsburg end of Dark Knight Rises and helped make all the stunt Bane masks for the final scene... kinda sorta hate him at the moment, hahahaha).

As for Face Off, I'm very aware of it. Know a lot of people involved. Heh. Don't get me started on that one. ;)

Haha, I do makeup too!!!! I worked in France for a while and now I'm back in the northern USA, while in school. Freelancing for theatres.
