Consider Us Even, 2/? Bane/Selina Kyle, Warning: dub-con meowlinaJuly 25 2012, 19:47:25 UTC
“What sort of deal?”
“A deal to save my hide.”
Barsad smirked and nodded. “Very well,” he said then turned to the inept guard. “Watch her.”
Selina’s eyes slid around surreptitiously as his footsteps faded around the corner, trying to figure out the best way to make a quick escape should she need to. She didn’t have much time to think; Barsad returned in a matter of minutes.
“Mr. Bane will see you now,” he said, opening the gate and leading the way down the stairs into a large chamber that served as their base of operations.
“After you,” the thug sneered behind her, grabbing a handful of her ass and pushing her forward. Selina moved in a flash, grabbing his wrist and twisting it until she heard a crack.
“You put this hand on me one more time, and I’m taking it as a souvenir,” she hissed into his ear, and she was pretty sure it was the closest he’d ever gotten to a woman.
“There’s no need for violence, Ms. Kyle,” an inhuman voice boomed through the chamber. “I thought you were here to offer me an olive branch.”
Selina let go of the thug, and he disappeared back down the tunnel whimpering like a dog. She turned around slowly to see Bane in all his glory, masked and shirtless and big as a fucking house. “Something like that,” she replied quietly and was proud of herself when her voice didn’t waver.
“It’s very bold of you to show your face down here. How did you find us anyway?”
“I have my ways.”
Bane walked toward her, his footsteps loud and intimidating as he circled her slowly. “I’m sure you do,” he said after giving her a lingering once-over. “So, Barsad tells me you want to make a deal.”
“That’s right,” she replied coolly, forcing herself to look past the mask and into his eyes. “Since I’m starting to suspect the clean slate device doesn’t actually exist, I’d like a metaphorical clean slate instead. What do I have to do to cross my name off your hit list?”
“You want forgiveness? After you tried to steal from my boss?” Bane asked with mock incredulity.
Selina sighed. “Would it help if I apologized to him? Is Daggett here?”
“I’m afraid Mr. Daggett is no longer with us.” The twinkle in his eye made Selina’s stomach churn. “But you can apologize to me.”
“Will that make us even?”
“No, but it’s a nice gesture.”
“Well, then you can forget it.”
Bane chuckled. He’d broken necks for less, but he liked her spunk. He let his eyes drift down her body for the second time as he thought about how she reminded him of Talia. “Perhaps there is something you could do to settle the score.”
Selina pursed her lips for a second, sure that she wasn’t going to like whatever Bane was about to propose. “Oh yeah, what’s that?”
