Never a dull moment in Mid-World

Oct 15, 2008 11:40

I was going to post about work and the fun nature of juggling public advocacy, institutional schmoozing, and grant writing (all for what is quickly becoming not enough money), but not just yet.

I spent the entire weekend (and then some) with my girlfriend, damnitnicole . We spent a lot of time wrapped up in each other, making wonderful noises and being generally insufferable. After playing migraine to my office, I slept in with her, lightly gnawing on her delicious back all morning before we crawled out for food and a lot of hugs and kisses goodbye. Of course I miss her all the time; she's wonderful and I like being around wonderful people often, if not consistently! The fuck of it all is that I've been heavily spoiled the past few weeks in getting to see her on a near-weekly basis. The Maryland show ends this weekend and, if she has a good weekend, I may get to see her one last time a'fore she heads down to Louisiana. Not exactly a hop-skip-jump car ride, if you catch my meaning. She won't be back up in the area until mid-December. Two months. Ouch.

Distance relationships are so much easier when you can just hop in your car and surprise your gorgeous girlfriend a few short hours later. Like I said, spoiled. I'm organizing a few trips so I can go out to see her while she's on the road. In the meantime, I'll hope she has a great weekend and talk to her all the time.

The distance is worth it; she's totally wonderful. The distance, however, sucks.

Mirf.

travels, teh girlfriend
