Well Well Well, back I am with another fun edition of whatever it is I do here, which hasn't been much lately apparantly. Been kind of busy/kind of couldn't think of much to write, ah well, here's an update
The big news for me is I may have my big job opening, Nothing official yet but I think my chances are looking good, job hunting sucks and I do hope this one goes through for me. It would be money that I've been needing and I can start getting things together and getting my own place to live.
Valentine's Day came and went and I got Resident Evil 4 while I got Emily a Build-a-Bear. Those things are neat, even if the stores are different. Seriously, clothes are one thing to sell, makes the bears unique and cute and all, but hell, underwear seems just a bit redundent. I mean, what are you supposed to do, model it for Maxim or something? It was funny seeing the 4 year old boy pick up a pair of the bear panties and run around the store with them. Overall, Emily liks the bear and thats what counts. Now she has a companion for that cushy pillow cat I got for her awhile back.
Resident Evil 4 is pretty awesome. Especially considering I started playing it not too long after I saw When A Stranger Calls, crappy movie btw. But Resident Evil 4 rocks, I'm glad they went into making a new game rather than rehashing old themes, the only similar aspect is the creepy atmosphere, but otherwise, different gameplay, different enemies, different story. The game throws alot of surpries at you(and yes, the chainsaw guys suck). I recomend for all the video game fans that read this(or anyone, if anyone can still here me?)
Well, time for a top 5 lists, today's random top 5 list is my top 5 favorite Playstation 1 RPG's
5. Final Fantasy IX -- Underrated game, didn't get talked about much, but just like all Final Fantasy, it rocks. This was a go back to the roots kind of game, it followed a more traditional character sense with individual abilities and a more medievil feel rather than machine or futuristic one. Plus lots of stuff to find, a good story.
4. Suikoden II -- Just like the first one, you get 108 characters to recruit, some hard, some easy, but hey, that keeps it interesting. This game improves on the first one in every aspect. Good story and feel to it, I like the army battles in this one better, Its more unique since you're building an army to fight and not just the usual, group of guys breaking in and beating the bad guys.
3. Lunar:Silver Star Story -- The breakout quality of this game is presentation. The same group that worked on this game should do one on a newer system and use that potential to its fullest. Lunar was a beautiful game. Prolly my favorite music soundtrack, a cute aww, but good story, and its other grace, the dialogue. IMO, this game did the best of overall character developement. Every character had a full personality to them, made the game very enjoyable.
2. Xenogears -- Why a lesser know game like Xenogears at #2? Just play through the whole thing. This was my favorite story ever in a video game, if you never played or heard the story, play it. The way it unfolds is so well done. And it also helps that the gameplay is good, and fighting in both gears and human form was nice. The game was a bit difficult but worth it. Almost the best but what barely beats it out is...
1. Final Fantasy VII -- This game just did it all and did it all right. Final Fantasy was brought to the forefront of best selling thanks to this game. Awesome soundtrack, awesome hero and villain, great story, all around fun to play and tons of replay value. Just like Final Fantasy IX, there is tons to do in this game.
Honorable Mentions: Lunar:Eternal Blue, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy Tactics, Suikoden, Final Fantasy VIII
Whew, there's the update, maybe I'll do a less geeky top 5 next time.....nah, doubt it ;) I'm out for now.
