Summary: Italy goes to check out the hot springs and runs into a new resident.

Italy was off on one of his usual wanderings around the village. Today, he had decided to go up to the hot spring. He wasn't quite sure if he was going to use the hotspring or not, but he liked the walk up the hotsprings.

When he got up there, he would notice quite a change in the normal outdoor hotsprings. A change involving massive amounts marble as the place had been utterly replaced by a very Greek style bathhouse.

Italy blinked looking around the hotsprings. "Wow..." he said, feeling somewhat more at home. True these were like the buildings at Greece's house, but they they were similar to Grandpa Rome's buildings. "This is so cool..."

"I'm glad you like it." Endora appeared on one of the lounging couches near to the entryway. She'd changed her clothes to fit with the building, keeping with her favorite colors. "The place needed some sprucing up."

"It's really nice," Italy remarked, smiling as he looked up at one of the columns. "These are similar to the ones that Grandpa made, but I think Greece has ones just like this."

She propped her head up on a hand. "Almost exactly like this. I had to make it a bit smaller with the space I had to work with, but all of the other details were taken from my favorite as a girl."

Italy didn't quite understand the end of that, but just smiled. "It still looks nice even though it is smaller. The ones Greece's mother made were almost exactly like this." He walked to a new position to look up at it again.

"Well you are just full of compliments, though I can't say I've ever met someone named Greece before. Their mother must have been quite the personality." Endora sat up, a full teacup in a distictly non Greek style appearing in in her hand. "And what would your name be?"

Italy blinked. "Wow! How did you do that?" he asked about the tea cup. "Oh, my name is Italy. I'm the northern half of Italy, but I also go by the name Feliciano." He smiled.

"This?" she asked before taking a sip. "Just a little bit of magic. Barely more than a parlor trick. Though perhaps you could explain how you're half of a country?" She patted the space next to her.

"But that's cool!" Italy said, walking over and sitting down next to her. "I've never seen anyone do that. Well, my brother is the southern half of Italy. He's older. Grandpa Rome took care of me until he disappeared so I learned art from him. After Grandpa was gone, Austria took me to live with him as his servant and Spain took Romano." Yes, probably more than she had been looking for but that was usually how Italy's explanations worked.

"Men as countries. Now I have seen everything." It was a bit much to take it, but Endora was fairly sure that she'd caught most of what he was trying to say.

Italy smiled. "Where I am from, all of the countries have a human form as well as a geographic location. There are some female countries too. Russia's sisters... Belgium... Liectenstein...."

Endora offered him a second cup. "It must be a fascinating world you're from, though I hope your American counterpart isn't as dreadfully boring as the thing that married my daughter."

Italy took the offered cup. "Thank you, Signora. America isn't boring. He is a very interesting."

"Well that gives me some hope for the man at least. Or maybe she'll find a better one." Shaking her head, she looked at the younger man. "So, are you the only country on the island."

Italy shook his head. "My brother Romano is here and Grandpa Rome. Russia was here and Poland was here, but they've both gone home. Oh, I didn't get your name, Signora." He smiled.

Endora smiled in return. He was quite charming. "My manners must be slipping. Call me Endora. I'll have to meet the rest of your family some time. Haven't been to their countries in a good number of decades."

Italy smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Signora Endora. Maybe I'll have to introduce them to you sometime. You might like talking to my grandfather."

"I would enjoy that," she said, leaning against her end of the couch. "It's been some time since I've met someone of my vintage."

"Oh?" Curious Italy was curious... and somewhat oblivious. "What do you mean?" He sipped his tea.

"Mortals do not live as long as witches and warlocks, but seem to overrun the population anyway," Endora said, glancing at him. "Your grandfather and I have likely witness a lot of the same events."

"Oooh!" Italy said, the proverbal lightbulb going off. "I understand. Wow... then I will have to introduce you. I'm sure he'd like to have someone to talk to." To comment on her appearance, which was obviously good for her age, didn't occur to him since he himself was over a thousand years old... and he was a younger country compared to others.

She gave a pleased smile when she didn't have to explain herself further. A woman didn't just come out and admit that she was rather old. Especially not someone like her. "So, did you come up here for the water? It does feel wonderful on the skin, I will say."

"Well, I'm not sure. I came up here because I like the walk, but I also like the hotsprings too." He smiled. "It does sound nice."

"Nothing to keep you from doing both," she said, waving a hand vaguely towards the steaming water. "It doesn't bother me either way."

Italy looked back over to the water. "I think I will," he said with a smile. "It was nice talking with you."

"I know it was. Have a pleasant day, young man," Endora said, returning to her lounging position.
