Summary: Flu season event hits Heero.
Duo wandered into the hangar and took a quick look around. He spotted Zero's open hatch and went over to make sure it was Heero.
It was. The pilot was looking over the readouts of the latest maintenance scan. He looked up when Duo appeared in his hatch.
"Hey," Duo said with his trademark grin. "Watcha doin'?"
"Diagnostics," he said simply. He sighed a little and leaned back in the seat, closing his eyes. He was tired.
Duo didn't notice, since ignoring his presence was how Heero dealt with him a lot. He flopped on the hatch, laying back to look at the ceiling while his legs dangled over the side. "Anything good?" he asked.
"Hn?" Heero looked at him.
"Any major issues that need to be fixed?" he clarified.
Heero shook his head, resuming his closed eye position.
Duo sighed. "I can help, if ya want," he offered.
"Mm-hm." Heero didn't move this time. He wasn't concerned about getting the work done. He'd continued working on things even when feeling worse than he was now. Still... the help would be nice.
Duo looked over at him, noticing now that he looked a little pale. "Hey... you feeling alright? Pushing yourself again?" he asked.
Heero shrugged slightly. "Not more than usual," he said.
"There's something going around the island. A few people are sick. Maybe you caught what they got," Duo suggested.
Heero looked at him. "Sick?"
Duo nodded. "Lucky for me, I don't get sick."
Heero shrugged a little. He didn't get sick often himself, but he didn't think he had some rediculously strong immune system like Duo apparently had. Maybe he was sick.
"Maybe you should head back to the hut and get some rest, huh?" he suggested.
"Maybe."
Duo shrugged a little and sat up. "It probably wouldn't be a bad idea," he said, peering closely at Heero. "You really don't look too good."
And he really didn't feel too good. Heero frowned a little in thought, and then nodded. "Alright," he said. He shut down the Gundam's computer. Climbing back to the floor with Duo after locking Zero down, he got himself back into his jacket and things he'd left draped over the machine's foot.
"Relena should take care of you," Duo said teasingly as they headed for the door.
"Hn." Heero wasn't about go demanding she wait on him while he recovered. If anything, he was more stubborn than that and would probably try to do everything himself. He sighed a little and stepped outside.
"You want me to come back with you?" Duo offered.
"No," he said. "I'm fine."
"If you insist," Duo said. "But you should let yourself get help." He smiled a little and headed back to his own hut, letting Heero have his way for now.
