Alberich came back from his workout in the training area to see the hut's living area decorated strangely. He had never seen balloons before, nor paper chains used as decorations. As he moved through the hut into the kitchen, he noticed his hutmate putting something on a cake. "What is this for...?"
Patrick turned hearing someone talking frosting being everywhere besides being on the cake. "Oh that? Its for a birthday party!" the red head grinned at Alberich then turned back to working on his cake.
That was no help to the Karsite, since his people didn't celebrate birthdays. Even with his time in Valdemar, he never really saw much in the way of birthday celebrations except when the Heir had been born. "Birthday party? Why?"
"Because birthdays are important," MOMO said. "It's a celebration of your life and making it through another year." She smiled as she came in. She put some cookies out on the table.
"It is a celebration for you being alive! Kinda like your love ones show how they love you by celebrating the day you where born." Patrick stepped away from his cake moving over to MOMO's cookies.
Still, that wasn't something Alberich was familiar with. No one in Karse celebrated birthdays since it was taking people's attention away from Vkandis and his priests. The blank look most likely said it all as he went to the coffeemaker that he had finally learned to use.
"But they smell good." Patrick whined as he pulled back his hand rubbing it. "Though, thank you for making them! I am not sure how many people are coming but the more food the better." Patrick hadn't really invited anyone, that part of planning a party slipped his mind.
"I know a lot of people that celebrate, but I also know a lot of people who don't," she said to Alberich. "It's okay, either way. I just think it's a fun reason to get people together."
Alberich waited a few more minutes just to ensure that his coffee was ready, and poured a cup for himself. "I suggest, that you in the training area, cafe, and arcade look."
"Then perhaps, you people in the cafe and training area ask should. They are most likely to come to a party." Alberich was only thinking of the most likely places to find island residents, although walking around the village would be good to find people as well.
