Who: Momiji and Pip Where: Outside the Cafe When: Today Warnings: Pip Rating: PG Notes: Pip is dead. Summary: Momiji hears a song he doesn't know and naturally wants to learn it all.
Pip was making his way around, trying to find something to occupy his time. It was never a good thing when he got bored--so entertainment was key.
He was looping back by the cafe now, singing a certain song perhaps a bit more loudly than he should have when around public areas. "--Mighty cold. Tastes good. Damn good--" He really needed to find a public friendly song to sing.
When Momiji, being the curious boy he was, heard someone singing a song he'd never heard before, and paused to listen, trying to figure out what it was about.
Blond head tilting, he didn't recognize the voice. Another new arrival? Cool! His perpetual cheerfulness kept him from getting too sad over not having anyone from his own world on the island. At least he had Seras and friends like Marie.
Quite unaware that he was being listened to, Pip kept right on singing. He sometimes dropped into humming, but that was only a lead into repeating the song over--with increased volume.
He couldn't help joining in the humming, he loved to sing after all. And it was a rather good thing that he didn't understand what certain words meant. Besides, the tune was catchy even if there didn't seem to be many words to it.
Pip would have kept on with the song, if he hadn't turned around and spotted a young kid that was. "Oi, you zhere--you did not 'ear anything do you?" For his sake Pip hoped not, his hide was as good as dead otherwise.
Pip groaned. It was his luck--that lady was one that was never on his side. "Zhat song is not one you need to know. Understand?" The last thing he needed was a kid to pick up on it.
Poor Pip didn't know the half of Momiji's curiosity. Double poor Pip, because Momiji heard an echo of the song, and started humming it again, cheerfully.
Interrupting himself, he commented, "It has a catchy tune, though! I'm sure Seras-san will like it."
"Of course--Ah we are from zhe same place..." He had almost forgotten that not everyone came from the same world as he did. "As for why, I do not know. Something about zhe song being perverted--"
Momiji couldn't be more aware of the fact that no one on the island was from the same place he was, it was a bit lonely, but at least he had Seras. In some ways...he preferred it here, no one was trying to hurt him, nor were most people mean.
He smiled brightly, learning that Seras once again had someone from her world on the island, he knew she missed her home. "That's great!"
However, he was still confused as to how a song could be perverted. More because he didn't understand what all the words meant. "How can a song be perverted?"
"Great as long as she doesn't 'url me into a tree..." Pip muttered under his breath. Right trees--he'd earn himself a permanent home in one if Seras even thought a kid here knew that song.
"It is zhe subject--and zhe words." Maybe he didn't get everything the song said--great, Pip would be on the spot for corruption too.
"Oh.." And Momiji made an inner note to find out why Seras didn't like the song-he rather liked the tune, even if he didn't understand all the words. Slang really wasn't something he understood most of the time.
Too bad for Pip, Momiji hadn't heard the comment about him being thrown into a tree a few hundred times by Seras if she found out that Momiji'd heard that song. He didn't like violence, and would ask Seras to not hurt Pip because it had been an accident.
