When: Yesterday
Where: Video store
Rating: G
Warnings: none
Notes: None
Summary: Treize stops by the store to get a video, and of course Jr's the one working.

Treize had spoken with Zechs about a few things recently, namely, one of them being a movie his friend had suggested to him to watch.  He stepped into the video store to look around and find it.

Jr originally had his feet up on the counter and leaned back in the chair as he waited for someone to come in, bored since he wasn't allowed to actually watch some of the movies while he was working. The feet came down quickly when he saw someone come in, giving Treize a slight wave when he came in. "Hey there. Do ya need help findin' somethin'?"

"Sure... I'm looking for a movie a friend of mine recommended," he said.  The title was sort of odd to him, but he shrugged that off mentally and looked over at Jr.  "I'm looking for something called, 'Boy in the Striped Pyjamas'?" he said, not entirely sure if he had heard Zechs correctly.

Jr had to look up the movie in the computer to find out where it was, simply because he couldn't remember every single movie in the store. It didn't take long, and he headed out from behind the counter. "Got it, an' ya got the title right, too." He grinned, then headed off towards where it was on the shelves.

Ah... that's good."  He smiled a bit and followed Jr.  "How have you been doing?" he then asked.  "I noticed you haven't been getting in trouble lately."

"Well, it ain't the right time for causin' trouble." Jr crossed his arms, snorting a little. "There's been too many parties goin' on to really stir anythin' up. But other'n that, things ain't too bad."

"Ah, I see."  Treize chuckled.  "So you haven't been bored enough, too... is that it?" he teased.

"Nah, jus' that it don't work to prank people durin' party season." Jr shrugged, dismissing the teasing.

"Mm-hm..."  He nodded.  He looked over the shelves.  "So, anything else in the same genre I might be interested in?" he then asked.  "Or is this not really  your type of movie?"  He'd heard Jr had a preference for classic westerns.

"I usually dun watch much drama stuff like this, bit more of an action an' classic western guy." Jr grinned, not at all ashamed of his preference in movies. "Things in those are simpler than they are in life. Nice to see somethin' that actually makes some sense."

Treize chuckled.  "What can I say? I'm a bit of an intellectual."

"I've had my fill of complicated stuff. I'll save that for readin'."

"Have you read anything interesting lately?" Treize asked, picking up some of the other movies that were on the same shelf.

Jr thought for a moment, then nodded. "Las' thin' I read from the pile of stuff I checked out was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I've read it before, but it's still good."

Treize nodded.  "I've read that one, too," he said.  "I enjoyed it.  Have you read other Jules Verne books?"

"Yeah, I've also read Journey to the Center of the Earth an' Around the World in 80 Days." Jr grinned, "I like his stuff. It's kinda weird to think that he was writin' it before there was much in submarines."

"That's what I enjoy about his books," he said.  "It presents the proverbial chicken and egg theory.  Did he hear someone's plans or were his books the inspiration?"  he smiled.

"I dunno, but it's interestin' to think 'bout when ya're hangin' aroun' in an E.S. waitin' for the inevitable stuff to happen." Jr chuckled, "I tend to either read a bit on the longer trips or think 'bout stuff I've read when I'm waitin' for stuff to start happenin'. Mary sometimes wonders why I read as much as I do from books insteada jus' downloadin' it from the UMN."

"Sometimes, reading is just more interesting than absorbing the information directly."  He shrugged slightly.

"I dun like readin' from a screen. I'd rather have the book in my hands."

"It certainly changes the feeling of the story," Treize said, not intending the pun.  He smiled a bit and decided on his videos.  "I think I'll take these," he said.

Jr laughed at the pun, since it really wasn't all that bad. "Good one." He headed back to the counter so he could ring up Treize's videos. "Ya ain't that bad at puns."

"I like word games," Treize said with a smile.

"Somehow I get the feelin' ya more'n jus' like 'em." Jr raised an eyebrow as he rang in the videos, having a feeling that this was a guy that Nigredo wouldn't mind being around.

He chuckled.  "Perhaps," he said, picking up the videos once Jr had them checked in.  "Thank you for your time."

"Ya're welcome!" Jr grinned slightly, "If ya want more, ya know where to come."

"Of course."  Treize smiled at the red-head and headed out.

jr, treize
