Summary: Playtime in the snow and making sure someone has actual winter clothing.
Marie took advantage of her day off from school to get a chance to have fun in the snow that was still-falling, heading over to where the soccer pitch used to be. She looked around, thinking of where the perfect place for a snow fort would be so she could build it before the inevitable snowball fights started.
Momiji ran out of the hut he was staying at and rolled around in the snow, despite his not having the right clothes. It was too fun to resist! He laughed as he started running again, exploring this place he had somehow wandered to. He saw a girl up ahead, she seemed to have the same idea he'd had, and called out. "Hi!"
Marie looked up from where she was starting her snow fort when she heard someone else, shaking her head at seeing him rolling around in the snow in summer clothes. "Hi there. Did you just get here?"
The 'young' boy was getting rather cold, but at the moment he was still having too much fun to really care. He nodded cheerfully. "Yeah, yesterday! I'm Sohma Momiji!" He introduced himself in Japanese fashion.
Marie smiled, the cheerfulness off the boy was contagious. "I'm Mariemeia Khushrenada, but most people just call me Marie."
Momiji smiled. "It's nice to meet you Marie."
"It's nice to meet you, too." Marie smiled, "Don't you want some warmer clothes, though? It looks like you came from the beach."
He laughed and nodded. "Warm clothes would be nice! It was summer when I left home, still not sure how it's winter here."
Marie laughed, "It just started snowing about a week ago." She finished putting some of the snow on the fort-in-progress, brushing snow out of her hair when she was done. "Want me to show you where the clothing store is? Miss Pluto should be there, she's pretty nice."
Momiji smiled happily. "Thanks, that'd be great!"
"You're welcome!" Marie ran through the snow, heading towards where the stores were located. "It's this way!"
He giggled and ran after her.
Marie ran most of the way to the clothing store, slowing down once she was actually in the shop area. She turned to make sure Momiji was still with her, then headed over to the correct one. "It's this one."
"Ok!" Momiji pushed the door open and held it in case she wanted to come in with him.
Marie came inside, glad to get out of the cold now that she wasn't moving as much.
Pluto looked up from behind the counter at the two who just came in, recognizing Marie. She saw that both of them were wet from the snow as she walked towards them, shaking her head at the boy dressed in summer clothes. "Hello. Would you like some hot cocoa and a chance to dry off before looking around?"
Momiji smiled at the tall woman and nodded. "Yes please! Thank you!"
Marie nodded, "I'd like some hot cocoa, please!"
Pluto smiled at them, heading into the back to make the cocoa and get a few towels out for the boy. A few minutes later she came back with the mugs, towels draped on her arm. "There you go. I assume this young man here needs proper clothing for the snow?"
The blond boy gratefully took a mug and towel from her. "Yes, I do. It was summertime back home before I came here."
Marie took a mug from the Guardian as well, "Thank you!"
Pluto nodded, "That would explain the clothes that you have on. We have some things here that would be better for you, after you finish drying off."
Momiji smiled and set his mug down long enough to dry off a little with the towel before wrapping it around his shoulders. He picked up the hot cocoa. "I'm glad to hear it! I'm Sohma Momiji, nice to meet you!"
"I am known as Sailor Pluto, Momiji. It is a pleasure to meet you." The green-haired woman sized up the boy, trying to get an idea of what size clothing she should look at for him.
Momiji was tiny for the fifteen year old boy he was, he looked like he was closer to ten. He smiled at her, she seemed nice too.
Marie sat down to finish her hot cocoa, glad that it was nice and warm in the store. Maybe she'd go back to building the fort after she finished warming up.
"Whenever you're ready, we can go look for clothing for you," Pluto told Momiji. "You can bring the hot cocoa with you for now, if you'd like."
"Ok!" He nodded and enjoyed his hot cocoa as he waited for her to lead the way.
Pluto took Momiji over to the guy's section of the store, into the area she saw Jr go into once or twice when he was convinced to get something decent to wear. She was sure the clothes there would fit him as well.
Momiji obediently followed and looked at the clothes there. He saw some he liked and pointed to the shirt, trousers, and jacket, he wasn't sure if they'd be warm enough.
Pluto took the clothes Momiji pointed to off the rack, holding them for now. "You will also want a warm coat and some gloves or mittens for now, perhaps another pair of trousers as well. The shirts you came with should be fine unless you see any that you like here."
He smiled. "Ok! Thank you."
"You're welcome. You should try these on to make sure that they actually fit you, but you cannot take the cocoa into the room with you."
Momiji laughed and nodded. "I will!" He started to wander around the store before sitting next to Marie to finish his drink.
Marie smiled over at Momiji, finishing her cocoa as well.
Momiji smiled brightly at her. "So where're you from?"
"My guardian and I live in what used to be Luxembourg." Marie smiled, "I don't think we're from the same world, unless your world also has colonies in space."
He shook his head, brown eyes wide. "Not that I know of, that must be cool though!"
Marie nodded, her red hair coming loose from its ponytail. "I was born on one of those colonies. It's pretty cool, and there's a lot of other people from my world here."
The blond smiled. "I hope you get along with everyone from your world that's here." He was, of course, thinking of what'd happen if Kyo or Akito showed up.
Marie shook her head, "Not necessarily get along with everyone, but I do well enough with those that are here. The only one I'm still not sure about is Preventer Chang, but he has his reasons for it, and we did talk to each other without anything bad happening."
"Well that's good." Momiji commented.
Marie nodded, "It is considering that he has a grudge against my family."
Brown eyes widened in surprise. "Those aren't fun!"
"I know, but there is nothing that I can do about it."
He smiled at her, looking a little sad. "I'm sorry to hear that."
"It doesn't matter that much to me anymore." Marie shrugged, "I'm becoming used to it."
Momiji looked down into his mug, sad smile still in place. "I think I understand." It sounded much like what had happened to his mother.
Marie smiled a little, "I'm going to have to deal with it when I get back to my home. So I should start getting used to it."
Momiji looked up. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"Well, my father...he's here, by the way, used to be the world leader. A lot of people don't like him for some of the things he did."
The blond boy tilted his head before he offered hesitantly quietly. "No one is perfect..The head of my family has made some pretty terrible decisions, but that is just for the benefit of the rest of the family. To keep us safe. He doesn't deserve to be hated because of it.."
"Then there's what my grandfather did..." Marie sighed slightly, "He started a war after my father died, which I'd rather not talk about."
Momiji winced. "Wars aren't fun.." He nodded and smiled lightly. "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, I don't mind."
Marie nodded, glad that she wasn't going to be pushed into talking about it. "Thanks."
He smiled brightly and bounced off his chair, having finished his hot cocoa. He looked around for where Pluto had gone with the clothes he'd picked out so far.
Pluto was waiting near the fitting room with the clothing, smiling when she saw Momiji. "Now you can go try them on."
Momiji smiled cheerfully and took the clothes from her. "Thank you." He went and tried them on. The shirt seemed to fit, as did the trousers. But the jacket was completely off. He shrugged before calling out a sudden thought. "Do you mind if I just wear these clothes out of here?"
Pluto chuckled softly, calling back to him. "I don't mind. You need them for the conditions outside, after all."
He laughed. "Thanks!" He walked out holding the jacket and wet clothes, separate hands of course. "The jacket doesn't quite fit, too big."
Pluto smiled, taking the wet clothes first. "You should get a smaller size in the jacket, then. I'm going to go put these clothes in the back so they can dry, if that is all right with you?"
Momiji nodded. "That's fine. I can come back later if they're not dry yet, or if there's a bag I can take them back in."
"It's best if you come back later for them so they have time to dry." Pluto smiled, "Now, go find a coat and you should be fine for now."
He smiled brightly. "Ok!" He went over to look at coats, eventually picking one out and trying it on. He cheered when it fit.
Pluto went into the back to hang up Momiji's wet clothing, coming back out in time to see that he found a coat that fit him.
Momiji spun around happily.
Marie giggled from where she was sitting, just from watching Momiji spin around. "Get it!"
He laughed. "I will!"
Pluto smiled over at Momiji as she entered information into the store's computer. "All right, everything's ready for you to go now."
Momiji smiled cheerfully at Pluto. "Thank you Miss Pluto! I'll come back later." He walked over to Marie. "Want to play in the snow some more?"
Marie got up, her smile lighting up her face. "Sure!"
He cheered happily and went to the door, again holding it open for her.
"Thanks!" Marie went through the door, heading out to go play again.
He waved at Pluto before running after Marie.
Pluto waved back at the two youngsters, going back to her sewing after they left.
