Summary: Lelouch makes his move against Quatre.
Quatre was walking from the school to his hut. Trowa had promised to make a traditional Latin European dish for dinner. He held his violin case and briefcase tightly in one hand, a smile on his face.
Lelouch watched the happy blonde from the shadows, a smirk coming over his face. Time for round three. He then stepped out of the shadows. "Mr. Winner?"
Quatre turned and faced Lelouch. "Yes?" He asked, wary of the young man in front of him. His hand twitched, wanting to go for the dagger he had on him.
"I just wanted to tell you something." Lelouch said, and before Quatre could react, removed his eyepatch. Bright blue eyes where ringed with red, the blonde immobile.
'No! No!' Quatre thought desperately. He fought against the hold, fighting it will all his might. 'Trowa!'
Lelouch laughed and took a step forward. "They said you'd be the hardest. But it seems to be the easiest. Now... Go after Trowa and you won't remember anything of this encounter."
The red around Quatre's blue eyes flickered, almost looking like it was going to fade, but it then strengthened. He turned and headed towards his hut, orders given.
Trowa was at home in the kitchen, washing dishes. Milo was still watching Omi and Maki was asleep on the couch.
The blonde opened the door. The sight of Trowa, he stopped, red rimmed eyes. The glow faded.
Duo and Heero were coming back from the gym when Heero spotted Quatre walking towards his hut. Duo glanced over as well and grinned. He nudged Heero and nodded. "C'mon..." They headed that way.
Trowa looked up as the door opened. "Hello, Quatre."
He didn't say anything, struggling against the control that was placed over him.
Trowa looked at Quatre curiously. "Are you alright?" he asked, moving closer to Quatre.
Quatre pulled the dagger he usually kept on him, out.
Trowa backed up quickly, remembering what Neptune had told him. "Bloody hell."
He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to fight it. His hand shook.
Trowa moved back into the kitchen, looking for something he could use.
Duo came up the steps, noticing Quatre hadn't moved much from the door. He paused.
"Duo... wait..." Heero said, catching the glint of metal in Quatre's hand.
He opened his eyes, the red glow firming a bit. He walked towards the taller man, adjusting the hold of his dagger.
Duo frowned. "Quatre..."
Trowa had found what he wanted. He grabbed Quatre's wrist and with the dish cloth wrapped around his free hand, he attempted to disarm Quatre first.
Heero moved past Duo quickly, going in to try and grapple Quatre from behind.
The blonde yanked his wrist away and moved it back, slamming his elbow into Heero's gut before taking a swing at Trowa.
Trowa dodged the attack and attempted to do the same thing as before, grabbing Quatre's wrist and trying to pry the dagger from Quatre's hand with his protected hand.
Heero grunted with the hit, stepping back slightly, but he didn't let go of Quatre's other arm.
"Knock him out!" Duo said suddenly. "He told me he wanted to be knocked out if this happened!"
He continued to struggle against the two men, the red rim around his eyes fading and then strengthening again.
Trowa glanced up at Duo's remark. He dropped his attempt at trying to pry the dagger from Quatre's hand which was probably futile, and reached over, pinching a pressure point on Quatre's neck to get him to loss consciousness.
Quatre struggled for a moment before the dagger fell from his hand and he slumped forward into Trowa's arms.
Heero's grip tightened for a moment until he was sure Trowa had him steady.
Trowa wrapped his arms around Quatre to support him. "I've got him, Heero."
Heero nodded and let go.
Duo bit his lip. He picked up the dagger, looking to see if there was any blood on it in case Trowa'd been knicked.
There wasn't any blood on the dagger. Trowa had luckily avoided Quatre's attempts to injure him.
Duo sighed in relief.
"We should lay him down," Heero said.
Trowa nodded and picked Quatre up, taking him over to the couch and laying him down.
He stirred and began to wake up.
Trowa knelt down by Quatre. "Love..."
"Trowa?"
Trowa nodded.
"What happened?"
"You were possessed by Lelouch."
Duo leaned over the back of the couch to look at him.
Heero sat down in one of the chairs.
Fear passed over Quatre's face and he seemed to curl up on himself.
"You didn't hurt anyone, love," Trowa remarked.
"We stopped you," Duo said. "I promised we wouldn't let ya..." He tried to smile at him.
Quatre looked at his friend, brother, husband and nodded. He moved to sit up, drying tears.
Trowa smiled. "No one got hurt, love," he said wiping away Quatre's tears. "It's okay."
"How do you feel?" Heero asked, watching him carefully to see if he showed any dizziness or exhaustion like he and Duo had.
"Tired..."
Trowa nodded. "Lay back and close your eyes, love."
Quatre shook his head, one hand reaching for Trowa's.
Trowa took Quatre's hand. "Everyone's okay, love. Lelouch can't go after you again."
"But Trowa... You might be next."
"But I don't have to worry about it tonight," Trowa remarked.
Heero got up then and went to make some chamomile tea for Quatre.
Quatre nodded. "Duo..." He whispered.
Duo moved around the couch, sitting next to him. "What?"
He leaned against him, hand still twined with Trowa's. "Thank you for telling them what I wanted."
"You heard me?"
"On some level..."
Duo put his arm around his brother, hugging him tightly and closing his eyes. "I promised you..." he said. "I don't go back on my word."
Quatre released Trowa's hand and wrapped his arms around Duo, hugging him back just as tightly.
Trowa smiled.
Heero came back with the tea then. "Quatre..." he said.
Duo rubbed the blonde’s back for a moment and then pulled away a bit to let him sit up.
"Yes Heero?" he asked looking at the former pilot.
He handed Quatre the tea.
Quatre took the tea and smiled gratefully at Heero. Carefully he took a sip.
Heero sat back down in the chair, leaving the spot on the couch opposite of Duo for Trowa if he wanted to sit next to Quatre.
He smiled faintly at everyone and then took another sip of his tea. He was exhausted from the encounter with Lelouch, so the chamomile was slowly putting him to sleep.
Trowa sat down on the couch beside him to help support him.
Duo watched him, ready to grab the cup if Quatre fell asleep before finishing.
His eyes began to drift shut and his hands fell forward.
Duo grabbed the cup and then put it on the table.
Trowa wrapped his arms around Quatre to keep him from falling forward as he fell asleep.
Duo smiled a bit, and sighed softly. "Crisis averted... for now..." he said quietly.
Heero nodded.
Trowa nodded and sighed.
Quatre leaned against Trowa, fighting a small yawn. He didn't want to fall asleep, afraid of the nightmares that would probably plague him. "Don't wanna..."
"Sleep, Quatre," Trowa told him softly. "I'll be here."
"We'll stay with you, Q," Duo said.
"I don't wanna sleep..." He murmured as he began to lose the battle.
"It's alright, Quatre," Heero said.
As if to answer Heero, the blonde slumped against Trowa, eyes slidding shut.
"I think he's asleep," Trowa said softly after a moment.
"Good," Duo said.
Trowa nodded. "It is."
Unconsciously, the blonde cuddled closer to Trowa.
Trowa smiled.
"I'm guessing he ain't movin'," Duo said, amused.
Heero smiled a bit.
Trowa chuckled. "Probably not."
Duo smiled. "And I'm guessing we're sticking around," he said to Heero.
Heero nodded. "We did promise."
Trowa nodded. "You kind of did."
Duo nodded. "Works for me.'
Heero nodded.
Trowa nodded. "Well, I guess I get to be next," he sighed.
Quatre's arms tightened around Trowa unconsciously.
Duo frowned. "But... who else?" Who was left to attack? Duo didn't want to think about that.
Heero frowned as well. "We can't let that happen."
Trowa nodded. "It wouldn't be so easy to stop me as it was Quatre."
"Your hair doesn't help," Duo said, trying to lighten the moment.
"That's the only way I've figured out that we can tell," Heero said. "His power puts a red glow in the eyes."
Trowa nodded. "I guess."
Heero nodded. "We'll find a way."
Duo leaned back on the couch and closed his eyes.
Heero did the same in his chair.
Trowa watched Quatre sleep for a moment before closing his eyes as well.
The blonde nuzzled close to Trowa in his sleep.
