Great Weekend, Busy Week!!
So I figured it's been a while since I updated so I wanted to while I had a little free time. This past weekend was Relay for Life at Alma. It was amazing as always. I always forget how great they are until I get there and I am quickly reminded what an awesome experience. I'm so glad that I participated. Our team raised $1500 and got best team participation. The best part is that the overall total was $30,398.07. That's an amazing number, especially considering that that is more than MSU's R4L raised. I was pretty pumped.
My back/ leg/ foot are killing me right now. I think from sleeping on the Rec floor/ walking about 8 miles in 24 hours something went way wrong. Either way I'm limping my ass around campus and it's not so fun at all.
Neal called today!! I was so excited to hear his voice!! We got to talk for like 20 minutes, and then I talked to him more online. I guess now he's not coming home until September, but he'll still have leave this summer. His mom might be going down to meet him when he gets home. I kinda want to go too, but her and I aren't really close, yet anyway. I guess we'll see after this summer. He signed up for Advanced Airborne school today, so he's really excited cuz he'll get to do all this crazy stuff and more training and all that. I'm so proud of him- I know he does this because he loves it, but it still makes my heart happy to know that I am with such an amazing person. He told me today that he can't wait to get out of that hell hole (aka Iraq) but he's so thankful for being there and for everything that happened with Ashley because had it not, he wouldn't have ever been able to be with me. Of course I said, I'm not that great. He's like, are you kidding me? I obtained the unobtainable!! You were the one girl I never thought I'd ever have a chance with. And now I get to be with you- I am the luckiest guy ever. He also said he can't wait to be back in Kentucky cuz he'll get to come home on weekends and see me. I was like, hun, you're not gonna drive 20 hours every weekend to see me!! He goes, yes I will, plus I'll get to visit my mom; that's what you do for the ones that you love. :)
This Friday I have a huge Poli Sci paper due, and I have poetry group stuff to do tonight and tomorrow night. Basically it's gonna be a hellish week. I can't wait for it to be Friday!!
