While so many people get to play....
....I'm stuck working today. But, I can't complain too much as I did get one extra day off this weekend. And, as always it was a good weekend and I had a lot of fun (we just have to factor out of course the pain I was and still am in).
Thursday night after work went down to Mt. Pleasant to surprise Rachael for her birthday. She was under the impression that I was not going to come down for it since I had to work somewhat later than usual that day and also because we had plans for the weekend. But, I was not going to miss her birthday! I had ordered her a cake and then Greg of course had to help me out with all the plans since I wouldn't be there at the beginning of the party. And, he went above and beyond setting up and scored many points that night from me....and, I surprised him as well by telling him Wednesday that I wouldn't be able to make it. Ryan, Greg and Rach were SO surprised when I showed up that night. The room looked great and everyone loved the cake. I was very happy with how things turned out and Rach had a wonderful birthday.
Spent the night at Greg's and then he had Friday off so we slept in, went to a nice lunch together and then went and bought dog food and took it to the shelter and donated it and then played with all the animals. I really wish I could get another cat or get a dog but I know I can't. He is seriously contemplating getting a dog though which one day therefore will be mine...
That night began the annual 4th of July party at Fritz's filled with camping, silly games, drinking, fireworks and fires at night. Lots of fun. Got to see MaryAnn which was nice. Good time had by all. Sunday Rach and I had breakfast in Mt. Pleasant and then headed up this way. Hung out and went shopping during the day, went out to dinner and then went downtown to partake in the Cherry Festival activities. We didn't stay out too late as I had to be here at 6 this morning! She is gone now continuing on with her holiday travels. And I sit here at work with much to do and little motivation. Want to go watch the fireworks tomorrow night and will probably go with Josh and his girlfriend. Rach may stop on her way back down, and I'm hoping the boys will come up to hang out. We'll see.
Going home this weekend to see the family and Gina and Tarynn if I can squeeze her in. Looking at dresses for Gina's wedding. Greg may come with me to meet the family. Oh my.
