I think it's been two weeks. I'm in the midst of a work deadline, but really, really want to do this update, so I shall. Quickly, before I have to get back to it.
Quilting
- Mystery Quilt: Final applique block is only in need of a bit of ribbon, and it's done. Over the weekend part of the quilting crew came over, and we made snowballs. She started piecing her strips, and I stopped there. This weekend (Sunday, I think), I'll finish the piecing of mine.
- My Quilt: No movement. August 2 block will happen after my homework for the Mystery quilt is complete--again. This month, I might just make it to cutting out the pieces...
Knitting
- Test Knit: Nothing since talking to the designer. I hold out hope that she'll sort out the issue, and maybe start using a decent program for designing.
- Spring Socks: Second one am still motoring towards the heel. I'm three rounds from starting the gusset! So tempting.
- SSK Socks: Frogged. not yet re-cast on.
- Garter Shawl: Finished! It's yummy, and on my shoulders now. It's taken a little while to figure out how to wear it, and I really want to block it a little larger. I also want MORE of this yarn, and to knit a top, because this. Is. Lovely-soft-yummy. And light! It's amazing, and I WANT MORE.
- LIME GREEN TANK: Last weekend I cast this thing on. It took all weekend, as the cast on was five or six rows of over 300 stitches. But it means the bottom is stretchy and looks finished, so it was time well spent. I'm now meandering up the body. Meandering because it's lace and cables, and every third row has the speed bump of a cable cross. It's going to move, but I really, REALLY doubt I'll finish it for Sheep and Wool. I'll wear the garter shawl instead.
Cross Stitch
- No movement. Sigh. I did move this project from my craft area to my office, but it's still in the ziploc. I've been looking at it, though, and bet I pick it up after the deadline is past, and I can reclaim more of my desk.
Spinning
- Selfish sock yarn: no movement. Well, beyond shifting the spinning wheel from here to there. With the warmer weather it's looking more appealing than a massive knit item draped on my lap, so I expect progress this coming week.
- 3#Fiber: I'm still playing with the singles on the spindle. And I'm learning the limits to what I can put on this spindle--it's a lot heavier than it was when I started, but I still have about a yard of fiber to spin from the bit I tore off to play with. I'd like to cram it all on there, then sort out the plying. It would be great to ply it over the weekend, maybe from an Andean bracelet, if I can make it work. I tend to put so much twist in that the bracelet tangles, but this is some "hearty" fiber, so it might be okay.
