On actually making progress
One of the things I love about making music is that it's one of the few things in this world that can't be taken away from me. Relationships can end through no fault of my own. I could get laid off from my job without having any say or contributing to it in any way. Even my life can be taken randomly and senselessly. I can write a song that can transcend all those things. The relationship that I might have written it about might end. The job that paid for the equipment I thought I needed to make the recording. I can die, but people can still listen to it.
