You may indeed have these~
Eric said that humans light these purple things on.... fire and they make sparks? We haven't been able to get it to work down here in Atlantica.... :( Perhaps you can figure it out and show me sometime?

Unfortunately they require being dry to spark. You could watch from the surface, but wouldn't have much luck getting them to work under water.
