Yes, I've been stressed to the max. (Warning: Long Entry)
1) I'm working everyday. I just started last Monday and it's been sort of hectic trying to get back into the swing of things. It's full-time work, but because of the new house (below), I'm not able to get much work done. And I don't have time for anything else.
2) I'm overseeing the remodeling and repairs at my new house. My dad's been working lately at another location and he hasn't been able to oversee the remodeling and repairs on our new house. And considering the workers don't really know what the hell they're doing (placing shower doors in the wrong bathrooms, adding lighting fixtures to the wrong ceilings in the wrong rooms, spilling coffee on a freshly caulked floor -_-), my mom and/or myself have to be there at least half the day, everyday, to make sure things go right.
3) At the same time, I'm shopping around for furniture, lighting, hardware, etc. for the new house. Everyday, I've been hitting various furniture stores (
Eclectic Avenue, stores near Helms Bakery -
Civilization,
Eastman to name a few, furniture stores on La Brea,
Bamboo Colony), home hardware (
Design Expo,
Home Depot,
Lowe's,
The Great Indoors, even
Target), and tons of other places. Shopping is fun, but when it comes to a home, it's just too much work and too many decisions! I've never had to make so many material decisions in my life.
Well to start off here's the bed I'm 80% sure I want. Wood tobacco finish...
100% sure Bed bench w/ chenille cushion and 3 drawers of space which I definitely need...
80 % sure dresser...
All imported from Brazil; All going towards my favorite modern ethnic feel.
Oh yeah, and guess how much we would have put in total for the remodeling in the end? Well, people usually don't talk about that kind of stuff, but I just remembered I stopped breathing after I heard the huge figure. You'd probably get a triple heart attack in need of a quadruple bypass surgery just like I did when we added up the expenses. Literally....
Remind me never to move again. -_-
On a lighter note (well maybe not - another thing to worry about), my 20th birthday is coming up - February 7th. I had plans for a big party, but looks like it's going to be an intimate gathering at the new house. It'll be sort of pre-housewarming too, but I wanted to have a separate party for housewarming the next month after we're completely done with the house.
Happy early birthday to me. TWENTY. What a nice solid number. Yay.
