Who: Kurt and Blaine When: November 17, 1956 Where: Moondance Diner, for now What: Their first date...that no one can know is a date... Status/Rating: In-progress, PG Warnings: Awkwardness?
Kurt broke the kiss after a time and just nuzzled his nose against Blaine's neck, arms wrapped tightly around him like he was a little afraid that if he let go Blaine would just disappear. He loved this boy with his whole heart and that was completely terrifying if he actually thought about it, so he didn't normally. At least not in great detail.
"Blaine, have you ever thought about what it would have been like if we'd met in your time? If I'd have been thrown there or if I'd have grown up there like you did?"
"It's hard not to," Blaine replied with a faint smile. He found himself wondering about it all the time, about where they would go, what they might be able to do, if they could really be like everyone else...what it would be like to kiss Kurt where people could see but still be safe...
"I hope so," Blaine agreed, holding him. It was impossible to think about it and not think about the possibility that one day he would go back and Kurt wouldn't. But as long as there was a chance, that had to be enough to hold onto. "I love you too."
"So about that diner..." Kurt replied after a time of just standing there, holding each other and dreaming. He pulled back slowly, looking into Blaine's eyes. "What do you have up here and what would you like?"
Blaine leaned forward and kissed him tenderly. What he really wanted was to spend awhile making out with his boyfriend lazily on the couch...but he supposed they should eat.
Kurt smiled. It was like at times, he could tell what Blaine was thinking. "After we eat, sweetheart..." he said softly, giving him one final lingering kiss before pulling away entirely to go find them something to eat.
"Sounds great," Blaine smiled as he looked through the albums, finally selecting the "Kiss Me, Kate" soundtrack and putting it on. He was still figuring out what music already existed and what didn't, but the good news was that quite a few musicals he knew were here even if almost none of the classic top 40 he liked was. They wouldn't even have the Beatles for another 8 years.
Kurt smiled when he recognized the opening notes of the soundtrack. "God, just think one day we'll actually get to see something on Broadway..." He replied almost dreamily.
"That can happen in either time," Blaine added. "Actually, if it's now, we have the advantage because I know what to go see. ...If I can remember when any of it came out. I know we should get Sound of Music in a couple years, I think. You'll love it."
He smiled at that, "Then you'll have to take me to see it, now won't you?"
Kurt got the water boiling on the stove and pulled out the right amount of spaghetti noodles to put in the pot, after salting the water first of course.
"She gets even better," Blaine grinned, glad he'd hit on something Kurt knew. "Sound of Music is iconic, and she's incredible. And Mary Poppins. And Victor/Victoria which I think you'll love, but that's not until a lot later, I think. I think it was after I was born, but I didn't hear it until I was older."
"Blaine, have you ever thought about what it would have been like if we'd met in your time? If I'd have been thrown there or if I'd have grown up there like you did?"
