Who: Rachel and GLEE/Musical Kids Where: Rachel's House What: CAST PARTY!!! When: Wednesday October 26, 1956 after the show Status/Rating: Incomplete/PG-13ish WARNINGS: Drinking and I think that would be the extent of it.
Rachel was sitting on the couch and decided or not to just relax or go and fix herself up for the party some more. After all she was the hostess and she didn't want to just sit and think of things to say to her father for not showing up to either performance of the school musical. How could he do that to her? She would never forgive him for doing this to her. She sighed as she cleaned just to stay busy with herself. Finally she heard the doorbell and went and answered it.
"Hey Lauren. So glad that you could make it. The party is downstairs help yourself to the refreshments and all the cool musical stuff me and my parents did for decorations." She smiled at her. "You did a really great job on your part Lauren by the way." She smiled at her. Yes, this was a good distraction, otherwise she would be sitting being furious all night.
A few moments later she heard the doorbell again, wondering who it was she opened the door. She smiled when she saw Finn, "There's my leading man." She went over and gave him a kiss, "You did amazing Finn. We really brought the characters to life. The party is going to be downstairs, I'll be there in a minute."
Then the doorbell rang again and she went and answered it. "Hey Britt." She gave her a hug, "So glad that you could make it. The party is downstairs in the basement. Please help yourself to the refreshments and have a great time." She then closed the door and then headed downstairs to be with the people that had shown up so far. "I just want to say how amazing everyone was during these performances, it was a huge success and we should all just have a chance to sit back and relax after all the hard work." She said as she held up a glass of champagne that she had poured herself.
"Hi Rachel," Lauren took a step inside. "It's cool you're having this party." She smiled at the other girl. "Thanks. You were a great Maria. I mean it." Without another word, Lauren headed down the stairs.
She grabbed a coke and took a seat on the couch. Lauren heard the doorbell ring and waited to see who else showed up.
Jeff sighed. He was definitively exhausted. And from the look on Sam's face, he guessed the other boy was too. Yet, this was the last big hurray. Their last chance to have fun while still in ''play'' mode, before having to return to their normal lives. As the young blond-haired male pressed the doorbell with a single finger, he smiled at his boyfriend, before whispering in his ear.
''You did great out there, you know, Sammy... perhaps... after the party, we could go back to my place... You... worked quite hard. You deserve a chance to... relax.''
His tone made it quite clear what he was actually suggesting, but for now, Jeff settled to stop teasing Sam and simply wait for someone to open the door.
Mercedes had rather enjoyed working on the play. It gave her something to do, other than go straight home and do homework. This fifties thing was really starting to get to her, and she wasn't exactly sure what to do about it. But the play was entertaining to do, and for that she was glad.
She decided that a party at Rachel's house would be interesting, and hopefully the girl would decide to lay off the alcohol this time. Or, at least, not have quite as much of it.
She headed toward the door, and smiled slightly at Sam and Jeff. "Hello, boys. You two doing okay?"
Jeff smiled towards Mercedes upon realizing the girl's presence next to him.
''More than okay, personally... I mean, let's be honest, I'm exhausted... but it was so worth it, being on stage and all. I felt... I guess this is why they say the stage is addictive. And we actually pulled it off without creating too much of mess, which is always a plus.''
He laughed at his own joke. Then, as he went to lean himself against the door, Rachel opened the door. He smiled warmly at the girl.
''Oh... well... guess we don't have to wait here after all. - Holding to door open for Mercedes and Sam, he motioned them inside. - After you!''
"That's good! I am exhausted, too. Being in a play always exhausts me. I'm glad it's over, though it was fun to do."
Mercedes snickered softly as Rachel pulled the door open just as Jeff was about to lean against the door. She would have found it amusing had Jeff actually been leaning against the door and Rachel had opened it. ...she had a strange sense of humor, she supposed.
She arched an eyebrow at Jeff, as he spoke to Sam about wanting to go have some 'us' time. "You could have mentioned the us time after I walked away, you know. I don't want to know what you two are planning on doing after the party..." She snickered softly at this, and went to find something to drink.
''Mercedes! How dare you imply that... Sammy and I were just discussing our 2-members book club. You know, I think this was quite obvious, at least in my mind. Wouldn't you agree?''
Sam's expression went from confused to neutral in seconds.
''Yeah. Yeah. Book club. You know, there are so many books out there... Jeff's helping me... with dyslexia. Yeah.''
OK, so they weren't really credible and they both knew it. Still, they didn't care.
Mercedes flashed a grin toward the two boys. "Of course. Two member book club. I must have misunderstood what you two had been talking about previously, then." She snickered softly, and just shook her head.
She took a sip of the soda she had grabbed. Tonight was an alcohol-free night, as she had school in the morning. School always put a damper on things. Though she wasn't sure she wanted to drink that much anymore, anyway.
Lauren was relieved to see others had arrived. She walked over the group consisting of Mercedes, Sam, and Jeff.
"Two member book club? Does that mean what I think it does?" Hearing Sam's lame and stuttered response to Jeff confirmed everything for Lauren. She snickered. "That's enough though, boys."
Changing the subject Lauren said, "I'm glad to have the musical behind us. I've never been so beat. It's nice to have time to breathe again."
Sam was just about to try to defend himself when Lauren pretty much insisted they drop the issue of the so-called book club. Whatever, he was glad for the change of topic, if anything. Don't shoot a gift horse in the mouth.
''We should just be glad the play was done at the beginning of the school year, frankly. Could you imagine having to deal with finals at the same time? I couldn't do it, I'd... pass out or something.''
Sam let out a contented sigh.
''This does leave us pretty... projectless until Mr. Schuester can come up with something though - and that usually takes a while, he seems... I don't know, distracted somehow. Wouldn't you agree? It's like he's somewhere else half the time. In a vest shop, perhaps. I wonder how I'll fill that gap in my schedule, now that I have much more free time. I guess I could always spend more time with the siblings... What about your girls, any big plans?''
"Oh wow. I couldn't deal with both the play and finals. At the same time, anyway. Separately they're okay, but together? That would be crazy." While Mercedes was doing decently in school at the moment, she wasn't sure she could manage to do both finals and a play.
Mercedes laughed softly at Sam's statement about the vest shop. "I don't have any big plans, but.. I'm sure I'll find something to do."
A snicker escaped from Lauren's mouth as Sam made a crack against Schue. As far as teachers were concerned, Mr. Schuester was basically useless. Lauren didn't mind much.
"I'll probably just hang out the rest of this week, but Berry's Halloween party is this weekend. I'll probably go to that. Spend some time working out a costume. You guys gonna go?" She then glanced at Sam and Jeff. "Oh wait, let me guess, your book club is meeting then, right?" Lauren smirked.
"You did great, too, sweetheart." Finn said, as he stepped inside. "Is there anything you need help with, Rachel?" He was sure she had everything ready, but he headed down to the basement.
The play had been a lot of fun, even if it had been a lot of work. He was glad he'd tried out and gotten to play Tony. He cast his glance around for Jesse. Thank God the guy wasn't here yet.
After letting everyone in from the door she joined everyone else downstairs in the basement and had to just sit down for a little while. Smiling at Finn she gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks babe. No, I got everything set up before the show, my parents helped me out with it."
She was glad that now they were able to just sit back and enjoy the night and the school year, but she did have her audition to worry about now and of course Sectionals but at least the musical was done and they all had done a wonderful job. "There's soda on the table. Only alcohol that I managed to get was champagne, save the rest of it for the Halloween party."

''Let's just hang for a short while and party... emphasis on short ok?''
He grinned at his boyfriend.
''It's not that I don't like these people, but frankly, I've seen them all week and I feel like we've barely had any... ''us'' time.''
He sighed.
''Nonetheless, we should go have fun for now...''
