FAQs
Q: Can I hold a character?
A: You can hold a character for 24 hours. Once the 24 hours are up, the character will be available for everyone else to app.
Q: What happens after I’ve been accepted?
A: Once you’ve been accepted, create a journal for your character. You should remember to put a disclaimer on your profile stating that your character has no affiliation with Glee, FOX, HP, and your character’s PB. Add everyone (we'll try to make it easier to do so) and then you're set. :)
Q: Once a part of the game, how do I get to know the other players?
A: First, make an introduction post in the OOC community,
tbtd_ooc. Then, go to the
player directory, add people onto AIM or by e-mail, and start talking. We highly encourage everyone to talk to each other and for new friendships to form.
Q: Where is this RP located?
A: Still located in Lima, Ohio. However, characters like Blaine Anderson, Jesse St. James, and Sunshine Corazone are attending William McKinley.
Q: Is this game set in real time?
A: Yes, but the year is 1956. You will need to compensate for that and there is a fabulous
resources page that helps.
Q: You do know there was segregation during the 1950's, right?
A: Yes, we mods realize that. However, we're treating WMHS as one of the first schools to introduce desegregation.
Q: Does that mean we can use slurs against race or sexual orientation?
A: Err on the side of caution. If you have to ask if it can be used, it probably shouldn't be. If you want you can ask, but be warned words will be turned down. When it comes to slurs against sexual orientation, go by how it's done in the show. Fairy and fag are used? We'll stick to that. For race, stick to 'yellow' or 'negro' or something along those lines. Use something stronger and expect to be talked to or a ban.
Q: How did the people from the present go back into the past anyway?
A: Magic? Maybe someone wants them to go back and stir things up? Maybe things will be revealed?
Q: Where do those that came from the present live anyway?
A: They still live at their current residences. Their families are there, but it's like they're from a 1950's sitcom. Mom's at home, dad's at work, and it's like they were always around. The only ones to realize they haven't been around are the students at WMHS.
Q: How much of this is based on canon?
A: We got their names right. Sexual orientation, past, friendships, even what year they are in school is up to you. It's up to your interpretation. Write up a good application and make us believe/give us a reason for such things and we'll go with it.
Q: Will the teachers be playable?
A: Currently, no. There are no plans to make the teachers playable. However, a need may arise in the future. Or you can talk to and convince one of the mods the importance of having one of the teachers there (in the present or past). Hey, we may just add them and accept applications, but don't expect it to happen so quickly.
Q: My icon is black and white! When can I get it in color?
A: The black and white icons are there for a reason. They're not only meant to represent those in the past, but to also represent their old worldview. The more their views of the world changes and they are 'corrupted,' then the more color you'll get back in your icon.
