uhmm the 21st was our schools "day of silence" it was pretty cool. man my english teacher is the best (not the gay one...but shes the best too:) mrs. crandall.. hahaha she was my english 11 teacher as well as my 12 grade teach.. uhmm i guess, well, we do a warm up EVERY morning.. hahha and on the "day of silence" she talked about gay, lesbian, si, transgender... and not so much questioning youth. but basically the whole bang. this was our warm up.
Try to figure out the real definitions to these words:
1. biological sex- real sex (born)
2. gay- happy :\ hahaha liking the same sex.
3. gender role- society's expectation of how they should act..i.e. girls like pink. boys like blue.
4. lesbian- women liking women
5. sexual identity- what they consider themselves; bi, gay, trans
6. transgender- drag queen, don't match society's expectations
7. bisexual- liking both sex's
8. gender expression- manner of talk, walk, hair cut
9.hetersexism- heteros are superior (its an aweful ISM)
10. queer- gay, not heterosexual, slur
11.sexual orientation- what you prefer...gay, bi....
12.transphobia- afraid of transexuals
13. coming out- telling others you're gay
14. gender identity- what you consider urself, inner feeling
15. homophobia- dislike gays.. afraid to hang out.. irrational fear. may be contagious... hahaha might catch "THE gay"
16. questioning- "not sure :\" confused
17. straight ally- ok w/ gays...
18. transexual- change of sex
my teacher went over all of this... hahahah i helped! she would ask they class and i was the only one who would respond. i wan't silent that day... i dunno... uhh i stood on the steps in the quad though to support and wore my ribbon so :P hahahaha... there were a few that were quiet...i respect that but i rather talk.... alright well, they GSA dance is on saturday.. that'll be fun... anywho... peace out, rock on, stay true XxXalyciaOoO
