Weekend Recap

Feb 17, 2009 10:11

Lest you all start thinking that I only post when I'm worried/upset/confused about something, lol, and because I like to hear what's going on in people's day-to-day lives, so I figure you might too, here is a recap of my weekend!

Friday night, Marcus and I went to Rusan's (sushi place) for dinner, and then came home and watched a movie: American Teen. It's a documentary (sort of), following the lives of five real high school seniors in Indiana through their senior year. They have one kid on there from each major "clique": the prom queen, the jock, the rebel, the geek, and the heartthrob. It's sort of like a real-life Breakfast Club, except that they don't all really interact with each other quite that much. It was a pretty good movie...I think they need to make a sequel showing all those kids' first year in college! Although they did put little blurbs at the end updating viewers on where they are now, which was cool.

Saturday, Marcus and I spent the day with Joel (because Shosh was working)! We played Rock Band pretty much all day, taking a break for a short while to play The '90s Game, and another short break to go eat dinner at Sweet Tomatoes, which is a really cool buffet-style salad/pasta/dessert place that I had never been to before.

Sunday, Marcus worked, and I did laundry and went grocery shopping. Then I lounged around the apartment for a while before going to a late dinner at Chili's with Gabbie. Marcus actually got home before me, lol, that's how late our dinner was. Anyway, Marcus wasn't feeling well, and he apparently was up until almost 6 am that night, so he ended up calling in sick on Monday.

I had Monday off for Presidents Day, and I had made plans to spend the day with Shosh. Marcus ended up tagging along, despite my protests that if he was sick enough to call in sick at work, then he shouldn't be out gallivanting around Atlanta! :-P We went up to the Tanger outlet center in Commerce, GA (where I never want to live...haha). We browsed the stores for a few hours (spending the most time in one particular food/cooking supplies store where they had a ton of yummy free samples!), then went to an "authentic" Mexican restaurant for lunch. Then we drove over to the rest of the outlet center (which is apparently divided into two sections) and spent another hour or so shopping there. Then we headed back to Shosh's apartment. We hung around for a little while until Joel got home from work, then he and Shosh went to place an offer on a house(!) while Marcus and I held down the fort. When they got back, we played a little Rock Band, and then ate a yummy dinner courtesy of Chef Shosh! ;) We played a few more Rock Band songs after dinner, and then Marcus and I headed home for a night of tv. I watched The Bachelor (yeah, I'm hooked for the rest of this season, but I've already said that if Jason goes back to Deanna, I'm never watching the show ever again, lol)...I was actually really happy with the rose ceremony, I was SO worried that he was going to send Melissa home just because of not meeting her parents - when I really think that she is the best person for him! But he didn't, so I was pleased, lol ;) Then we watched 24. It wasn't the best episode ever, but Chloe is freaking AWESOME and she had me grinning like crazy! I <3 her...she's my hero, I want to be just like her! And I have to commend the writers this season, for actually having a SMART bad guy! It's really fun to watch, it makes it infinitely more interesting, and you ALMOST have to root for him just because he's such a GOOD bad guy! lol...I said ALMOST :-P Anyway, that was pretty much our night, we went to bed shortly after that.

And now here I am, back at work. I'm happy it's a short week, and I have a lot going on in the evenings this week, too, so it should go by pretty quickly! Tonight there's a Maryland game (which probably won't be televised, but I can at least follow it online), and Cliff is coming into town and staying with us Thursday night and Friday night. I'm having lunch with Shosh today, too. Good times...

tv shows, movies, friends
