Tuesday Art Post
So the DC Reboot is in full swing now, with art being teased all over the place. There was a less than exciting news that DC announced that yes some of your favorite characters will show up in these new books, but my not be the same? If that makes any sense! But my girl, Power Girl, is suppose to make an appearance, but as Karen Starr, not PG. *sigh* Breaks the heart.
I was holding out that she may end up on the new Stormwatch team, which IMO, is a team a little bit more suited for her. As a character of another Earth, whose origins had been altered again and again, why not join a team that themselves were mostly Wildstorm Characters? It would seem a team consisting of Martian Manhunter, Midnighter, Apollo, and Jack Hawksmoor, would NEED a female character anyway, but why not another heavy hitter.
Especially PG, whose been a very squeaky clean character, whats the harm giving her a harder edge. That's how I would write her anyway. ESPECIALLY with a Supergirl out there. Agewise, I believe that Superman is 'technically' in his late 20s, early 30s. PG is the middle child in her early to mid 20s and Supergirl is somewhere in her late teens. You can play up the middle child aspect a LOT.
So I've been tinkering with PG's uniform under this revamp and I think my first try was a little too conservative. Not a whole lot of change to her, just some color adjustments. The second try....*sigh*...I did give her pants. I couldn't help it, it just seemed right with the way I redesigned the uniform. The second try has no cape, longer gloves and higher boots. I think this would work. Not many people rock the white as much as PG. I am working on a hybrid of both designs.
