Day 20/90 - have dog can jog...

I haven't been able to jog in about two years. Between my knee bumming out on me and being out of shape jogging was about the furthest thing from my mind. In fact the idea that I might maybe feel like moving faster than a nice stroll could make my knee twinge. Being thus hindered the idea that today, when I put my walking shoes on to take the dogs on a nice quick jaunt that as soon as my feet hit the ground I would start running was a little surprising to me. The dogs, feeding off my crazy perhaps, decided that running was exactly what they had always wanted to do, even though I usually have to drag their butts because they could easily spend hours just sniffing every last weed and patch of dirt. I didn't, however, run very far. According to google maps I jogged for half a mile without stopping. Suhweet.

Then, on my return I did calisthenics? Random stuff, high stepping, jumping jacks, kicking and other stuff that is generally included in my normal work out video, but I did it outside, on the levee as I slowly made the half mile journey back home. Then, I ran the last couple hundred yards back to my front door from the road. After that, 100 sit ups and I figured I had completed my daily dose of working out. It was a nice change of pace from that boring old video that I'm going to be doing for at least another 70 days. Bah. It says there are six work outs on two dics... it is a total lie. There are two work outs. One is 'slightly' harder than the other, but lets face it... 90% of the moves are the same... that's not a NEW work out. Plus two of the works outs? Sit ups. Sit ups that you do anyway three times a week. Pfft. 100/200 sit ups is not a work out... So yeah, I don't much recommend the P90... I'm going to stick to it anyway just because I need something to tell me to work out consistently... but I don't really think anyone else should use this method, it gets REAL boring after three weeks. Maybe I'll move up to the next video? Give that four weeks and then move up to the master's series? I wonder if my muscles will be ready. At least the master's series actually has four work outs that are actually different from one another...
