“When you mentioned tutoring,” Brian begins nervously, tugging at the hem of his shirt and glancing furtively behind him; John throws a cheeky grin over his shoulder before he turns back to the lock. Brian continues checking the dark hallway behind him. This entire...debacle has a very definitive sense of breaking the rules to Brian.
“I just...” He continues after a moment, “I thought that maybe it would be the other way around, you know? That I would be helping you. With, um...” The lock clicks open, and John raises an eyebrow at him and gestures dramatically, still grinning, as Brian finishes weakly, “Something. You know. Like science?”
John smirks and begins pushing Brian in the door. “Brian, Brian, Brian - remember: it is always handy to know where the permanent records are.” He winks as he flips on the light switch. “Just in case.”
