I was very spoilt this Christmas!
My hubby gave me Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume, a TS skirt (which I had actually already lay buyd)
Loved both of these would have been happy with them.
and a watch.... why the .... well firstly I have a chronic nickel allergy and secondly wear two lovely rose gold bangles (that he bought me to mark the birth of our first 2 children) on my left wrist, the watch is solid gold plated... yellow gold that is and in my description to my Mum "it's an old lady watch Mum" to top it off he involved my daughters in the purchase (my son said very wisely yuck Mum hates watches I'm not buying her that) my eldest daughter was extremely anxious that I wouldn't like it and wouldn't wear it.
I opened it and looked very shocked at my husband trying to figure out what the hell he was thinking!! My eldest daughter looked at me waiting for my response, I just felt like crying as I really did not like it one bit but bit my tongue and went it's really lovely! My daughter goes put it on wear it today Mum! About then I wanted to run and hide! I had to go I am so so sorry I do really like the watch but I just can't wear it or I am going to get a rash on my arm and turn the inside of the band all black/green.
My husband who actually knows a lot about jewellery (he used to buy and sell it) and I still have no clue what he was thinking looked at me blankly and said but it's gold, whilst managing to not punch him in the face I smiled and said I know but the base metal is stainless steel and will react with my skin in a massive way esp as it's quite hot today. Suddenly it dawned on him (doofus) and he remembered. Every year I tell him do not try and surprise me only get me what I ask for. This does sound harsh and ungrateful I know but when you have received:
a. parasilk tracksuits (I NEVER wear tracksuits and think they should be illegal)
b. jeans 2 sizes too small and given whilst pregnant
c. a size 10 dress with little thin straps and about 6 inches above my knee 6 weeks after giving birth to my 3rd child (hello who can go braless after 3 kids???)
d. shoes 3 sizes too small
e. second hand bike that had been run over and is all twisted (he sold my perfectly good much loved bike to purchase said dud bike)
There have been a plethora of other gifts I have despised along the way so now instruct him DO NOT BUY ME ANYTHING I HAVEN'T ASKED FOR.
So yeah, hate the watch with a passion and to top it off I can only exchange the watch which he bought from the crap jewellery store his brother works at and there is nothing at all that I want from there. Earrings you say?? Hate dangly earrings they annoy me and I can only wear 18ct in my ears or said rash happens. We owned a jewellery store for 12 years really don't need any more jewellery!!!
Thinking of wrapping the watch around his neck and strangling him for making me feel so horrible on Christmas Day, no excuses he DID know better he just was a fucking dumb arse and forgot!!!
