Oh my, I can't believe it's already been a week!! Time is flying by... and I barely notice! I even forgot to call my mum last Sunday... I forgot it was Sunday!

Things are going really well... Lysette (the mum) and I are becoming fast friends, Sam (the four months old) falls happily asleep in my arms and smiles every time he sees me, and Jacob (two years old) is finally getting used to spending a lot of time with me and has stopped crying and throwing a tantrum every time his mum isn't in the room. Progress!! He's really a very sweet little boy, but for some reason he's really really insecure. He's not the kind of boy to run away and get into everything, he's kind of pensive and quiet and always clinging to his mum or me and needing constant attention. But he's getting better and now lets me take him to the park, even though he constantly asks after his mum. He still won't let me give him a bath, but now I can help him with dinner and change his diaper without him bursting into tears, so that's something. One step at a time!

I've been soooo busy between looking after Jacob and sightseeing in my free time, and I can't believe I'm already exhausted at barely 10.30 pm!! My whole routine was thrown out of wack, and I'm adjusting. I haven't met anyone yet, aside from the family and a couple of Lysette's friends who brought their children around for playdates, but hopefully that's going to change tomorrow: Lysette's next-door neighbour has invited me to her house tomorrow night, to have a chat and introduce me to her two kids, a boy my age and a girl of 18. I hope we'll make fast friends!

Alas, I'm an idiot and I didn't see Frank Spotniz offer of tickets to the London XFiles Premiere on the 30th until it was too late... Damn it! But I'm still going to the red carpet event, and I've been posting like crazy in all kinds of blogs hoping someone will take pity on me and offer me their spare ticket... hey, trying never hurt anyone... and there's still hope! I've been contacted by a group of Italian fans and maybe they have one ticket they don't need so maybe I'll get in! Oh pleasepleaseplease!

And by hoping and trying and praying... I GOT A TICKET FOR HAMLET!!!! *does happy dance* It's for Monday the 11th of August!!! Not a great seat, it's in the gallery and a bit to the side, but still, it's a ticket!!! And I only paid the face value of the ticket, plus postage, which is great considering how much they're going for on eBay. That's the advantage of buying from a fan! I couldn't believe it when I refreshed my flist and there the offer was, on tennant_love. See? Stalking the communities and forums helps!! I'M GOING TO SEE DAVID! LIVE! LIKE, FOR REALZ!! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! Sorry, aenigmatica, I could only secure the one. Sooooo, I've already gotten the day off from Lysette, I'm going to take the train to Stratford-upon-Avon early in the morning, get there just before midday, check in in a B&B, do a bit of sightseeing, prepare for the play, SEE DAVID LIVE OMG, sleep if I can, and go back to London in the morning. CAN'T WAIT!!

I didn't manage to secure a ticket to the Doctor Who Proms, but I fully intend to cue up the morning of the 27th and try to secure one of the 500 standing places. Cross your fingers for me! I've also signed up and been accepted for the Doctor Who Family Orchestra event, so at least that should be lots of fun. Anyone else going?

Thankfully, even though they're not fans themselves, Lysette and her husband Joshua are fairly tolerant of my Doctor Who obsession, which became abundantly clear when I started taking advantage of their SkyPlus to record DW left and right with the TiVo. And asking about Hamlet. And the DW Proms. And Catherine Tate. *G* BBC THREE is doing repeats of S4 four episodes a week, so I'm throughly enjoying watching Doctor Who on their big plasma screen! They tease me like hell, but it's all good-naturedly. And... they're so nice, that for my birthday next week they bought me a ticket to see Catherine Tate in Under the Blue Sky, which I'd expressed an interest in. Catherine Tate! Live! On stage!! Oh, I'm walking around with a big daft smile on my face.

I also plan on going to see a musical. I still haven't decided which one... Les Miserables? Wicked? Phantom of the Opera? The Lion King? Advice, anyone?

ETA:I GOT A TICKET FOR THE XFILES! I GOT A TICKET!!!!!! I'M SEEING THE XFILES LONDON PREMIERE, WITH DAVID DUCHOVNY AND GILLIAN ANDERSON AND CHRIS CARTER AND FRANK SPOTNIZ!!! THIS IS FANGIRL HEAVEN!! *faints*

There's so many things to do and see and enjoy... I'm having the time of my life, and I'm so happy! That hasn't happened in a good long while.
Stay tuned for a big picspammy post!

Later.
