A Valentine's Date

Feb 14, 2009 21:47

This our first Valentine as husband and wife.  I knew before hand that Froggy and I will be going out.  But what I didn't know are the details of our date.  He had been very secretive.  And whenever I asked him, he would just tell me to dress nicely and comfy.  I guess I had that coming because my usual attire is composed of the usual t-shirt and jeans.  He did slipped once mentioning that we have to leave early because of the traffic that the Loveappaloosa would cause.  Which meant that he might be bringing me around the MoA area.  So V-day had come.  And I did choose a dress with high heeled shoes to match.  Froggy on the other hand was clean shaven and wearing a nice polo shirt.  Once in the car, I kept rattling out a list of restaurants that were within the MoA vicinity.  He then drove straight to Heritage Hotel when it dawned on me that he had help from a friend of ours (in which I'll disguise her name as C) who is currently in charge of the banquet sales in the hotel.  After parking at a reserve spot that C had organized, we went in. It was already the start of the evening and Froggy brought me to the buffet room.  At first I thought that's where he was taking me but It turned out that he got something better in mind.  We waited for awhile till it was exactly 7pm and we were soon escorted to the top floor of the hotel and led further to a staircase going to the roof top garden. The place was made up quite nicely, with colorful "love" balloons, dainty fairy lights, and live acoustic music serenaded us as we walked in, and the  a number of romantic table settings literally filled the roof.  They ushered us in a table at the corner of the roof top. We got a good view of the lighted metropolis below.  I was facing the well lit MoA.  And we even watched the fire works display that coincidentally started once we got seated.  It was something I didn't expect that's for sure.  Then C came over to chat up with us and brought over a bouquet of flowers that Froggy had ordered.  And here I thought that he won't give me flowers.  He earned
"pogi points" for that.  C didn't stay long but she did took a couple photo of us.  I wish I brought my camera. But I didn't know where we will go.  The sparkling wine was served and then the food arrived one at a time.  The food was pretty good too.  We talked about the past, books, and things that we thought about.  Once the food is gone.  We decided to call it a night and just stay home like two old fogies.  Thanks Froggy for a lovely night.

**Sorry for the grainy picture, wasn't able to bring the camera.  So we used my cellphone cam.
