ViVa La ReVoLuTiOn!
I was talking with my aunt last night and she told me a story:
She works for the Methodist Church at their national headquartes in NYC. She remembers when they voted to be allies of the CIW and support the Taco Bell Boycot. The CEOs were staying in grand hotels with plenty of money while the workers were staying at a friend's house. It took much longer than they had expected because of the process of making a decision in the Methodist Church. The workers ran out of money for food and money to get back to Florida. My aunt remembers running up and down the isles collecting money to feed and pay for other needs while the church decided to support the boycott. The COEs walked away with their own money in their pockets, but no souls in their bodies or gods in their hearts, while the workers were shown hospitality and backed by the entire Methodist Church.
