last thought before I leave for the day:
I went through this phase from 3rd to 5th grades where I'd read every John Grisham book I could find. I was going down to California at least twice a year then, for baseball, summer vacations, any excuse really, and I'd read the entire time. I finished The Firm in two days without bending the crease of the paperbacks binding.
I think it was in A Time to Kill, but I remember this part where an attorney goes to visit his mentor in Mississippi. His mentor tells a story of being the first attorney in the ACLU in the state, and how for at least the next ten years he was the one of three.
If that character existed in real life, chances are he would work with this law firm.
Off to the Cathedral for prayer service. Week one draws to a close and I'm starting to feel at home at work.
