Stage 1. Sanity
Chase wanted to avoid dating with Wilson. He knew the man cheated a lot. He knew he'd be the one cheated on someday. He wanted to stay away from pain and suffering. But he already been suffering. For he couldn't stop thinking of Wilson.
Stage 2. Taking chances
Chase decided to take a chance. After all, it is always 99.9% instead of 100%. For a fleeting moment he allowed himself be illogical. “I might be special. I might be the one on whom he might not want to cheat.” Chase mused.
Stage 3. Action & Bliss
It happened so fast that Chase didn't realized he was falling hard. He was living in a dream. Each day with James was a fantastic journey for him, romanticwise, sexwise, and spiritwise.
He was flying somewhere in the seventh heaven.
Until...
Stage 4. Impending doom
...Until one day Chase came home and found a note set on in the living room next to Wilson's photo in a frame. “Thanks for yesterday's evening, it was perfect. Love you, Virginia. See you tonight, at mine.”
Chase froze in his tracks. Cried his heart out. Sobbed in the shower for a half of the day.
Stage 5. Wrong solution
Being high on sad and shocking emotions Chase cut his wrists open in Wilson's bathroom. And being a doctor he knew how not to miss the right fatal spot.
Wilson found him dead next morning...
Epilogue
Never try to change people. People don't change. Accept them the way they are and you will not receive a disappointment that may cost you life.
