I have caught it, and I am ailing severely. Yesterday I managed to stumble across the Casey Fashion Plate Collection and the Los Angeles Public Library and the sound that my day made as it whizzed by was WHOOOOSH! There are thousands and they are incredible:
digital.lapl.org/Browse.aspx I'm just relieved that I'm not yet involved in anything AFTER 1820, because just focusing on the stuff before kept me occupied for hours and tormented me so much with the beauty that I actually got out of bed at midnight and went back to it, desperate to see what else there was!
The thing that really got my heart racing was all the different bits of headwear. I'm just starting into the Regency era, but as I am a sucker for hats of any kind, that is what I was immediately drawn to. I mean, just look at these and tell me it doesn't make you want to throw down whatever project you are working on and pick up some buckram and millinery wire?

Problem is, I'm a maker of
GIANT hats- the more
ridiculous the better! And I've never made a bonnet. Any of you lovely costumers have any experience making them? I'd love to see what you've put together. Let the inspiration flow!
