THE ANONYMOUS FEEDBACK MEME
I just about never do these things, but I put my name down on this one. Maybe it will help me be able to write again :(

Also, MapleStory has sucked my life and freetime away. I love it.

I wish people would think to use the tags. That is why we have them, after all D: /random

are you talking about miracle? But the tagging system is confusing, and adding tags might burden the mods. Does it not?

Yes, this was about miracle______ but if you notice the time stamp, this entry was also made in 2008. The tagging system actually makes sense on the community though, even if it's undergoing some changes and fics haven't been able to be tagged for ages, but the fics we do have tagged can be found easily by author (if they received a tag before we reached our limit) and subject/pairing/ot3/etc. There's nothing confusing about that, and we already have tags, so the burden is already there.

All the same, this original comment was not made about people not putting tags in their fics, as that is something us mods only have control of at the moment, but about when people were not using our tagging system to find fics, and posting many requests to the community.

Oh, but almost everyone looking for a fic forgets who wrote them. Isn't that the reason they're looking for it? I mean, if people remembered the authors, they could just go to the author's LJ and find it there, everyone has a master fic list right? and usually people who are looking for fics only remember the pairings and few events.

Well, if theire IS people who are looking for a fic and tells the who the writer, why don't you make a rule on that post.

1. People are allowed to request only if has failed searching through the tagging system and google.

Just a suggestion, to lessen you mod's burden. You guys have done a lot already.

As I said, we also tag by pairing, and people can usually remember the pairings. These was over a year ago however, so it's irrelevant now, but at the time a lot of people were making posts because they simply couldn't be bothered to look through the tags to find the fics, and it was irritating because us mods put a lot of hard work into implimenting the tagging system.

As it is now, if you've had a read over of the rules any time within the last year, you will see that we DO have a rule where all fic requests go into a masterpost just for that reason, so as not to clog up the community. As I said, this entry was made over a year ago, and we've added rules to the community since I posted this.

Of course, there's a rule about commenting on the req masterlist to not clog up the community. I meant about rules of commenting on that masterpost.

The pairing tags are kind of outdaed as everyone knows. The latest date for posts with pairing tags is March 2009, and even that has a range of 10 fics from 2009, and the rest are the years before, so it's more likely not being able to find the fic even using tags, but there is the possibility. That's why I'm suggesting to put a rule on people who comment on that req. masterlist. to make sure that the fic cannot be find using the tagging system and google.

Do people still post 'I'm looking for..' entries? I thought those have stopped already.

There's no need for that additional rule though, because we're well aware that we have been unable to tag since last March, as that was when we ran out of available tags, which is why we made the masterpost for requests in the first place, we understand that people are not going to be able to find the untagged fics easily at the moment ^^

But seeing as I made this entry originally in November 2008, this was when we were still able to tag and were fully tagging everything as it was posted, and didn't need a masterpost for requests, hence my frustrations at the time of this entry of people not using our tags. I hope that explains things? ^^

And sometimes, yes, because people don't read the rules before posting, but between us three mods we always get to the post quickly, so they're rarely seen.
