band/bloody london
okay, so i think that some people might disagree with what i am going to say. no, correction, some BAND people might, because this is a band rant.
so this is what i think...NUTTING IS GOING OVERBOARD with everything london. it's always about what's good for london and blah blah blah.
i mean, of COURSE i understand that we are going to england and this might be a once in a lifetime opportunity, but at the same time, it seems that now nutting ONLY thinks about the trip and not about the band as a whole.
isn't band first about the musical connection/participation and second about the fancy schmancy competitions and what not. ha, i just said schamancy! for example, in two songs that we are performing in london, third part clarinets don't play ANY of them. okay, it's cool and all that nutting wants us to play the best and most challenging literature, but we aren't professionals here, and everyone should be included. so after nutting said the third clarinets weren't playing one song... i was like "okay well it's only one song"...but now we aren't playing another and how unfortuante is that? extremely. especially since i actually really like that one song. not the strange humors one but the other one.
and i think it sucks for everyone who can't go on the london trip. maybe they can't afford to go. whatever reason, they have to go in the back of the band because of it. okay, now i understand how nutting wants things PERFECT for england, but we could make some adjustments where everyone is happy and no one is excluded because their family is too poor.
sorry, i just needed to say that. maybe i'm overeacting or something of the sort and i just need a tranquilizer to the head. for non bandos reading this, sorry for not including you in this heated entry. and for bandos....hmmm...i really feel iffy even writing this...very iffy indeed...
