I'm feeling pretty good right now, besides being in pain, and I'll tell you why (I don't care if I sound like Sally Field at the Oscars): THEY LIKED MY STORY! THEY REALLY REALLY LIKED IT! Very very happy indeed! By the by, here's yet another attempt at and LJ cut:
Now that's out of the way, on to why I'm in pain. When I read the lovely comments (read: shout-out to bast2, sipman, and basric!), I jumped out of my cool wheelie chair, tripped over it and almost broke my ankle (luckily, it's fine, just a little sore). But I jumped back up and while I was doing my Snoopy dance (or my really bad attempt at one), I slipped and got rug burn on my right foot and knee. Oh, but that's not all: I didn't realize that I ended up under a desk, so I tried to stand up and ended up hitting my head. Real smooth. Only I can end up doing that!
Mass went pretty well. Rachel was the first student that Father ever let do the reading (usually a teacher does it), and she pulled it off flawlessly! My responsorial psalm was perfect, according to Neena, Rachel, and Shaniece. People who know me know that I talk really fast, so they were all pleasantly surprised when I spoke slow enough for people to understand but fast enough that I didn't put the whole thing behind schedule. The people doing the prayers of the faithful had to do them in French and English, so I really felt for them. Besides when a kid kept moving a chair and messing up Father's sermon, the whole thing went off smoothly. Except for when the teachers forgot to give the readers communion, so we all felt dissed. Another thing is when one of the song leader teachers flashed the mic back to Andrew and I and we sang into it and the students clapped after. I guess we were good!
I spent my lunch hour putting these free kids passes to the zoo in the packages I made yesterday and spent the first half of the dance (the one I didn't know about) taking down the pictures of students from the Celebration of Excellence bulletin board and putting the pictures in magnetic frames, then putting them and a letter (that the school printed on the good paper) in envelopes. Good times.
When I finally got to the dance, that cha cha song by Mr. C or something like that was on and we all started dancing. I met up with Shaniece, Nadine, Ashley, and Neena after and needless to say, we danced up a storm! During the whole thing, we were trying to get Mark and Deysi to dance and while Deysi agreed, Mark didn't and he kept running away from us. I think that the last dance we had was better than this one.
Fully Alive update: we have the songs, chant, and artwork (at least one piece) done. The skit is being filmed tomorrow and Ryan is going to edit and add special effects in it on the weekend. I'm working on the Bristol Board tonight and if the stars are on my side, it will be done. All we have to do is practice and we should be fine! I hope.
Lowing forgot to give me the 15 facts about murder, so I have to look them up and finish my Bristol Board.
Love, Senorita Taylorama
PS: Special thanks to alkow for friending me! I'll take it that she read my drabble!
