"People in Asia and Africa admire our scientific and technical progress, but at the same time they are frightened by a form of rationality which totally excludes God from man's vision, as if this were the highest form of reason."
Let's totally ignore the fact that people in Asia and Africa often have a totally different conception of God from Roman Catholicism, from African pantheism to Asian atheism. Anything that isn't Western science must be the same as Abrahamic religion, right? And therefore must be better than reality. If these people love God so much, why do they completely ignore everything about the world that doesn't fit their preconceived notions? It's like a parent who insists that their kid's picture is a whale when the kid says it's a heffalump. Only they're getting the parent and child roles mixed up, insisting that their view takes precedence over evidence.
