Update
Here is an update on what has been going on lately.
First, my brother's wedding was great. It was fun getting to spend time with family again, and to meet some of my brother's friends. We had the rehearsal dinner, a low country boil, at my parent's house. For the wedding, part of my duties as a groomsman was to light the candles, usher family and friends to their seats, usher my mom to her seat, roll the trail out, then get back in position with the other groomsmen. The ceremony went smoothly, and the reception was long. It rained on our way to the reception, but then stopped and there was a beautiful sunset. We were there for at least 5 hours, dancing and having a great time. The next morning we had a brunch for those still in town.
Work has been busy at times. When I am not working on sorting mail, I have other tasks that take up the rest of my time. I recently applied for a management position, but I don't think I am going to get it. We also got news that the company issued a salary freeze for everyone in the company, right before scheduled raises (for me, my first since I have been working at PalmettoGBA). Instead of raises, they are giving everyone a bonus to make up for the difference we would have made with the raise.
My 10 year class reunion is coming up the first weekend in October.
