Enough is enough, time to stop obsessing...

To distract myself from my other dramas, I have begun to make some headway on my many house-related projects. This weekend, I attacked Project: Kitchen Cabinet.

BEFORE - corian-coated wood composite -- though you can't see it in the pictures, it was water damaged to the point of warping, and stained in various ways throughout. Rusty hinges and decomposing handles that were placed semi-randomly so that some were upside-down. Also, the style? Ugh.

---
SORTA HALFWAY - Cab base stripped and painted in scrub-able, mildew-resistant "Sea Salt", doors and fronts stained in "Moonshadow" with new brushed nickel knobs and hinges. The drawers will have a different type of handle. I know one of the knobs looks a bit off but I measured it and I think it may just be the lighting. These will get another coat of white paint around the edges and polyurethane on the fronts (not rushing that just yet cause the stain is oil-based and repels moisture, but should be done by next weekend).

---

Maybe once they settle in I will paint the background (the part that's white) a blue color that matches the wood more closely... but right now I am enjoying the contrast.
